Can You Sports Types Stop Being So Competitive?

[The full story is complete. This is a crossover, not a single-fandom fic. It really is a slow burn, with lots of focus on friendship. If that bothers you, please skip it. Coming soon: Haikyuu!! fic, "The Fox and Me," featuring a Miya twins love triangle. The blurb is at the very bottom.] [Blurb] After dying in a car accident, I got the painfully common reincarnation-in-another-world plot. The god of the otherworldly underworld was handsome, but his aura was oppressive. He looked utterly miserable, like an overworked office drone in the middle of a glorious overtime shift. The god said that before I died, I had donated all 180 million yuan I won in the lottery, only to get hit by a car as soon as I finished donating it. Then the staff in my assigned underworld messed up and gave away my reincarnation slot, so now I had to go to a different underworld. He also said I had two pieces of good news. First, I could keep my memories from my previous life after reincarnating. Second, I would receive three blessings: one to make up for my family, one for my intelligence, and one for my looks. Me: But I don't want to live anymore. The god smiled. The King of Hell behind him shuddered. "Excellent. The underworld is always short on talent." I swallowed, staring at the pile of paperwork stacked three times taller than me, and quickly changed my tune. "So, which way do I go to reincarnate? Is there an express lane?" I can't keep up with the grind. I really can't... You have to understand, I'm 170 centimeters tall! Though it might sound like I'm bragging, after reincarnating I was a natural-born star. A happy family, a brilliant mind, and outstanding looks. ...Except I'm shorter than I was in my previous life. Damn it! The natural-born star decided to lie flat. While everyone else went to class, I slept. While everyone else exercised, I slept. While everyone else went out, I slept... Just let me spend the rest of my life dreaming! But that wasn't going to happen. Childhood friend number one, the Haikyuu!! boy: Come help set! Childhood friend number two, the tennis boy: Come help pick up the balls! Childhood friend number three, the basketball boy: Come help collect the balls! Me: You can take your balls and shove them! Even childhood friend number four, who cared about nothing but video games and got up "early" at two in the morning just to play, had started looking forward to Haikyuu!! more than ever. Me: I need to find a way to escape Tokyo. Little did my naive self know that this world had been taken over by sports enthusiasts. Anti-piracy rate: 30%, 24 hours. *The story is told in first person, with occasional shifts in perspective when needed. The blurb covers four crossover fandoms, with Haikyuu!! as the main one. No superpowered sports, and it's not a competitive sports story. You can enjoy it without knowing the original works. *The heroine isn't your typical lazybones. She's a true grind queen, and her CP is childhood friend number four. *Lots of everyday slice-of-life, very slow burn, about youth, dreams, tears, sweat, and love. *There are plenty of jokes and references. If I offend anyone, I'll get down on my knees and apologize in advance. My Weibo: @GiveMeABag ---Coming Soon--- "[Haikyuu!!] The Fox and Me" (1) Question: What should I do if I run into someone I used to have a crush on at a matchmaking date and immediately call them by name? Questioner's added details: My former crush recognized me too, and somehow the matchmaking date turned into a class reunion. Answer 1: Did you come here to find inspiration for a novel? Answer 2: You're not getting together after all that? You're not getting together after all that? You're really not getting together after all that?! Answer 3: Take my blessings and get out. Questioner's reply: But I used to date his twin brother...? (2) Hoshida Rina attended Inarizaki High School, where she spent three years as a classmate of the older of that year's famous volleyball twins. She liked how lively the twins were and thought they looked dazzling when they played Haikyuu!!. But she was just an ordinary, unremarkable bookworm in the crowd, and she had never even gone to watch a Haikyuu!! match. Several years after high school, Hoshida Rina suddenly realized she was still caught in the strange orbit of the Miya twins, unable to break free, and had somehow landed in a bizarre love triangle. Atsumu: "So tell me, who do you actually like?" Osamu: "It's fine. I'll accept whoever you like... It's not Atsumu, right?" Hoshida Rina: Don't come any closer! Theme: Stop wasting energy on pointless self-doubt and be your authentic self.
