Little Zongzi's Happy Life in the Apocalypse

In the year 2250, humanity enters the Age of Eternal Night Spores.

When the polar ice caps melt, what emerges isn't water but luminous spores sealed away for billions of years. Humans infected by these spores can't stand natural light. The moment they're exposed to it, they become bloodthirsty zombies with almost no intelligence.

The surviving humans have moved underground to live in cities, while the surface has been completely overrun by these living zombies, known as “Pale Ones.”

Xie Yulan sleeps for two thousand years, then suddenly comes to the surface.

He discovers that he's become a zombie.

The world is also completely different from the one in his scattered memories.

He figures being a zombie is fine. Not needing food or water is pretty convenient, and he can slowly restore his bodily functions through cultivation. It's not all that different from being human.

The only drawback is that his neighbors are so unintelligent that communicating with them is impossible. They can't even appreciate the five-character quatrains he composes when inspiration strikes...

Xie Yulan, who grew up in an academy, can't accept this state of affairs.

Then he'll educate everyone all over again!

During a gathering mission, Gong Cheng gets trapped in a zombie horde while rescuing his subordinates.

His ammunition is gone, and he's about to lie flat and wait to die when he suddenly spots a particularly pretty little fellow.

Can anyone tell him what kind of new species this is, with its little fangs showing and its mouth full of classical Chinese?

Caught between being bitten to death and being forced to study, Gong Cheng decides that maybe, perhaps, studying is harder!

He chooses to be bitten to death.

Xie Yulan: Hah! Dream on!

No studying, no kisses! [Whip cracks]
