The Chubby Beauty's Tea Restaurant [The 1980s]

[A rising star of a beauty who finally fights back, bottom x A cold, obsessive, lovesick top and academic prodigy]

Song Can, a big eater who was going viral for his livestreams, collapsed amid a flood of comments saying, "One more bowl!"

When he opened his eyes again, the sky was blue, and a street-corner record store was blasting disco music.

He had returned to the late 1980s, the darkest period of his life.

His father had died, he had failed the college entrance exams, he weighed close to 180 kilos, and even the snack shop his family relied on was being driven out of business by rivals.

In his previous life, he had crumbled. He even returned that burning love letter, leaving Shen Che to close his eyes forever when disaster struck, carrying a love he had nowhere to confess.

Staring at the face in the mirror, so swollen with fat it was unrecognizable, Song Can slapped himself hard.

Given another chance at life, to hell with feeling inferior! He never wanted to be that coward hiding in the shadows again.

He saved his dad, kicked his awful relatives to the curb, and shed all that weight. Song Can transformed completely.

Taking the apron from his mother, he turned an unremarkable roadside stall into the hottest cha chaan teng in the city.

Their pineapple buns with butter sold out as soon as they were made, their milk tea brought in a fortune every day, and even the city's richest man had to queue for a taste.

As life got better and better, Song Can stood in the sunlight and stopped Shen Che's bike.

"Um, I've been thinking. Being gay is pretty trendy... Can I have my love letter back?"

Shen Che was known at school as an untouchable beauty, rational and aloof, as though he had been born to solve the most difficult math problems.

No one knew the darkness and obsession concealed beneath that flawless exterior.

Song Can was his only connection to the bustling world around him.

He remembered every word Song Can had ever said, and every cold detail of the moment Song Can turned down his confession.

But that was all right. He had bought plane tickets and brought a can of cola laced with sleeping pills. He planned to trick this insecure little pig onto the plane and take him abroad, where he would keep him locked by his side forever.

Who could have guessed that the gorgeous beauty, now thin as a bolt of lightning, would reach out to stop him and ask for his love letter?
