"Is Miss Nika home today?"
This was the butler's eighteenth time asking this month, and it was only the seventeenth day.
"Nika isn't home," said Bruce, Gotham's richest man. "At six this morning, she turned up at Arkham, on the Joker's hospital bed."
A passing coffee addict let out a despairing cry. "Oh my God, is the Joker still alive?"
Besides some bat-style furry little mishap happening every day at Wayne Manor, there was one other thing that was guaranteed to happen.
That was...
"Where did Veronica sleepwalk to today?"
*
Veronica was the second child of the Waynes, Gotham's richest family. Her family included her beloved daddy Bruce, her passionate older brother, a police commissioner in the neighboring city, her second younger brother, who was currently running away from home, her coffee-addicted third younger brother, and her newly arrived fourth younger brother, who liked playing with knives. There were also her adorable girlfriends, who for some reason were often away from home. And, of course, the great butler!
It was a huge but wonderful family. Veronica loved everyone in it, and had no doubt that her family loved her just as much.
But she did have one little problem, or rather, an uncontrollable superpower.
Every night, she fell asleep at Wayne Manor, but when she opened her eyes the next morning, there was a chance she'd be somewhere else. At best, she would wake up in a stranger's home. At worst, she'd be on a riverbank, in a desert, on a rooftop, or even high up in the sky.
That was why Superman next door became the person she liked second best. Of course, her number one was Daddy Bruce.
Once again, after Superman caught her in midair and carried her back to Wayne Manor, Veronica put on her best daddy's-girl voice. "Kal, could you really not be my godfather?"
Superman, aka Clark Kent, looked awkward. "Nika, your godfather is Mr. Kent, and you can only have one godfather."
Veronica: "Then can I be your little sister?"
Superman was horrified.
No, Nika! That would mess up his and B's place in the family!

One day, Veronica woke up to find herself lying in Superman's bed. The location: the Fortress of Solitude.
"This is my first time here. You never used to bring me here to play," Veronica said to Superman. "It's so early, Kal. After you take me back to Wayne Manor, stay for breakfast."
Superman, from the Injustice universe, was dazed. "..."
Confused, but shocked.
A female Batman? A female Bruce?!
Then Injustice Superman heard the girl say, "Kal, would you like to be my godfather today?"
Still in the middle of a brain freeze, Injustice Superman blurted out, "Sure."
No, wait, what had he just agreed to?!
Not long after.
Veronica's real dad and real godfather hurriedly built a time machine and transmigrated over, accompanied by the alternate-universe Batman. Together, they watched Injustice Superman proudly introducing his goddaughter in the distance and calmly raised a spear made of kryptonite.
Her real godfather: "B! B, stay calm, I'm still here..." He reached out with a trembling hand, then collapsed to the floor.

1. A goofy bat-family make-believe story. The heroine is a total optimist.
Theme: Cherish your family.
