Mihara Haruka had a chat group that had been around since elementary school. His best friend A was the first to be dragged in.
Best Friend A had been obsessed with games since childhood and was a hardcore PVP player, especially into various shooter games. His daily routine was either playing games or heading out to play games.
Mihara Haruka: "Bro, how many kills did you get today?"
Best Friend A: "Five."
Mihara Haruka glanced at the one enemy he'd just managed to knife in a panic on his screen and happily reported, "I finally got a kill today!"
Best Friend A: "Pathetic."
...Sumimasen, boss. He's just no good at PVP (tears).
The second to join the group was a friend he'd met in middle school, someone he'd originally befriended in hopes of improving his gaming skills. He hadn't expected this friend to be a different kind of "support."
Best Friend B: "You got scolded by the teacher for your bad grades, so now you're sulking and want to become a shut-in?"
Best Friend B: "You little punk."
Best Friend B: "Turn on voice chat. I'm tutoring you right now."
Best Friend B: "What are you going to do if you don't study at your age? If you don't study now, what will you do in the future?"
Mihara Haruka: "Waaah."
And so Best Friend B became his online, cyber-space tutor.
Damn it!!
This "terrifying" relationship went on for five years, until one day Best Friend B suddenly announced that he was going to find a rich woman to keep him. Feeling he'd let his friend down, he planned to disappear into the vastness of the internet forever.
Mihara Haruka: "?"
...Best Friend B! You traitor!!!
Fortunately, Best Friend C was still there for him.
Best Friend C was a mystery enthusiast, an ordinary high school student (or so he claimed).
Mihara Haruka: "That's great, we're the same age. We'll definitely have so much to talk about!"
Best Friend C: "(Shares a news report about a case) The culprit blah blah blah... The method was pretty interesting, blah blah blah..."
Mihara Haruka: trying hard to keep up.jpg
Best Friend C: "(Shares another case) It hasn't been solved yet. Come solve it with me! Let's stay up till dawn!"
Mihara Haruka: closes eyes. I can't keep going. I really can't.
And yet even this Best Friend C, who loved chasing criminals, was obsessed with mysteries, and occasionally shared angsty teen literature, had disappeared a few days ago...
After Best Friend A went half a month without replying to his messages, even though he kept playing games, Mihara Haruka finally gave up hope. He decided to leave the house and randomly capture a passerby D to pour his heart out to.
"Hey, D, my previous best friends A, B, and C have all abandoned me. Would you be willing to become my Best Friend D? We'll start a whole new friendship!"
Matsuda Jinpei, who'd been grabbed out of nowhere: "..."
Mihara Haruka, belatedly realizing what he'd grabbed: "..."
Mihara Haruka: "Holy crap, a cop."
He turned and ran.
Matsuda Jinpei: "...Why are you running when you see a cop, kid?"
*
And so, after Mihara Haruka wouldn't take no for an answer, Passerby D finally joined the group and was promoted to Best Friend D.
Until one day...
Mihara Haruka had a flash of inspiration and excitedly posted in the group: "Gentlemen! Let's meet up in person!"
Best Friend A, a top assassin for a certain organization: "No."
Best Friend B, an undercover agent for a certain public security agency: "..." He'd been lurking so obviously. Surely he didn't need to reply.
Best Friend C, a certain former high school detective now stuck in the body of an elementary school student: "..." Better not drag the idiot Mihara into this...
Best Friend D, the utterly unremarkable bomb disposal cop Matsuda: "Sure."
Mihara Haruka: "D! D! You really are my best friend!!!"
Best Friend A, Gin, who had been called that more than a hundred times before: "Hmph, idiot Mihara."
*
One day, Mihara Haruka had yet another flash of inspiration and changed the chat group's name to "The Crow Organization."
Best Friends A, B, and C: "Change it back!"
Best Friend D (Matsuda): "Huh?"
Mihara Haruka, aggrieved: "No matter how you look at it, The Crow Organization sounds better than Five Little Crows!!!"
#The five of us are way too powerful!!#
#The Black Organization? What's that? Our chat group is called [Five Crows]#
#Three reds and one black, Best Friend A has something to say#
