[Western Crossover] A Beginner's Guide to Watching Batman

[A Beginner's Guide to Bat-Watching:

1. Bats are mostly active at night in the gloomy, dark alleys of Gotham City, especially near crime scenes and places of unrest. Keep an eye out for any shadow that flashes by.

2. Be sure to use binoculars or a telephoto lens for long-distance observation.

3. Always keep a safe distance! If you get too close, the bat may mistake you for an enemy and attack.

4. If the bat attacks, start taking rapid-fire photos immediately. Bats move incredibly fast, so make sure you put your own safety first!

5. Don't walk while watching bats, and don't watch bats while walking!]

Ambrose excitedly pressed the shutter over and over. "Beautiful! That diving pose is gorgeous!"

Tim, his bat-watching buddy and ten years his junior, was snapping away furiously, too. "Yeah, it looks like it hits really hard."

Ambrose gazed in wonder. "It's so fluffy and cute."

Tim nodded. "That metallic finish looks awesome. Must be a high-tech suit."

Ambrose froze. "What? Have you seen any bats with metal feathers?"

Tim hesitated. "...Isn't there only one bat here?"

They both lowered their equipment at the same time and stared at each other, confused.

Then Tim noticed that Ambrose's lens was pointed at the sky, while Ambrose saw that Tim's camera was aimed deep into the alley.

In silence, they turned to look in the directions they had each been observing.

Above the alley, a swarm of black bats circled overhead.

Inside the alley, a figure dressed as a bat was taking on a whole gang of thugs alone.

The air suddenly went quiet.

Several seconds passed before Tim said in a strange tone, "So you were watching actual bats?"

Ambrose: "...What else?"

#Who gets it?! Why is there someone in Gotham dressed like a cat-eared guy, insisting he's Batman?!#

Later on.

After taking part in villainy ten times in a row and getting beaten up by Batman, Ambrose asked Tim, "Is there a beginner's guide to watching Batman?"

Tim: "...First, stay away from the lunatics at Arkham."
