Just How Many Husbands Do You Have?

When Xie Yi was bored, he played a fictional political-strategy dating sim, randomly generating a whole bunch of friends in one go. On a whim, he maxed out every friend's affection score.

The bad news: He woke up inside the game, where warlords battled for supremacy and lords carved out their own domains. He was nothing more than an ordinary background character, a two-faced, vicious petty official.

He had offended the entire court, and his toadying, kicking-down-and-kissing-up behavior was despicable. Just as his enemies were about to drag him out and behead him...

The good news: His friends came to save him...

Xie Yi was troubled. Just how many friends had he randomly generated back then? There were too many powerful backers to cling to. He couldn't possibly cling to them all.

As it turned out, having too many friends wasn't a good thing either. Xie Yi struggled to keep up, scrambling to deal with friend number two, three, four, five...

His brothers were way too clingy. They must not have enough friends, so he decided to introduce them to one another.

A whole crowd of friends arrived early. They filled the hall in purple and red, dressed in imposing robes and looking like peacocks. Xie Yi was pleased. They were all brothers who would take a blade for each other.

Little did he know that they looked at one another with cold, murderous eyes, itching to stab each other twice. Their killing intent was laced with the haughty conviction that each of them was the one and only wife.

"You gentlemen must have lost your minds. What a clumsy attempt at sowing discord."

"There's a little mole three inches below his waist." The speaker said it casually. The men in the room exchanged glances, and the atmosphere turned tense and hostile.

When Xie Yi walked over with the wine, everyone silently stared at his waist.

Xie Yi: Huh? Why are my brothers acting so strange?

Only later did Xie Yi learn that, to get past censorship, the stupid game had used the word "friend" to mean "husband."
