The custom android was identical to Xie Junyao in voice and appearance, down to the little details of daily life. But Su Jian'an knew perfectly well that it wasn't him.

It wasn't him, but it could still be a comfort.

Su Jian'an believed he was simply treating the android as a memento of his late husband. Unfortunately, he had never truly looked into those eyes. What lay hidden in them was desire and obsession that no program could ever imitate.

Xie Junyao had faked his death because he had no choice.

Someone in his family had been trying to kill him for a long time. He could only use the accident to disappear, hide behind the scenes, and wait for his chance to strike back. He didn't dare see Su Jian'an, or even find out how he was doing. He feared his whereabouts would be exposed, and even more that the moon in his heart would be caught up in the danger because of him.

The day he finally took full control of the family, he returned home, barely able to contain his excitement. He had meant to confess the truth to Su Jian'an then and there. Even if Su Jian'an resented and hated him, he would still take him into his arms, no matter the cost.

But his credentials had already been removed from the electronic door lock's database. Through the floor-to-ceiling window, he saw Su Jian'an asleep with his head resting beside the knee of a tall, elegant figure.

The android, identical to him, whispered sweet nothings to Su Jian'an in exactly the same voice. When it looked up, however, it gave Xie Junyao a mechanically polite yet icy smile.

"Mr. Xie, tell me..." The android's fingertip brushed Su Jian'an's sleeping cheek, but its gaze was fixed on Xie Junyao outside the window. "When he calls out A-Yao now, is he talking about you..."

"Or me?"

The premise was discussed with my editor and writing friends on April 11, 2025. The blurb was screenshotted on April 21, 2025.

Reader's guide:

1. The story is set in the near future, about ten years from now. Aside from the AI elements, the setting is much like the modern day, so it is categorized as modern fantasy.

2. There will definitely be a love triangle. This is not a multiple-choice romance. The ending has not been decided, but it will definitely be a happy ending, meaning everyone ends up together.

3. There will be wealthy-family feuds, business rivalries, and so on, but they'll be background elements and not especially clever. They're there to move the romance forward, and I don't plan to explore them in depth. The focus is on the romantic development and love triangle.

4. Although the AI has the late husband's data, it is not the same person as the late husband. It has its own personality. In other words, if it wanted to, it could play the late husband perfectly.
