Bold, flamboyant, and devoted only to his wife, the powerful top x aloof to the world but sweet and pliant in private, long-haired beauty, powerful bottom
The original top gets his crematorium arc.
Also featuring plenty of scenes that are not exactly a love triangle, but where one side wins completely and the other is left a loser.
Blurb:
Shen Yunqi had been with Fu Yuan for seven years.
Everyone at the Security Bureau knew that the sharpest blade in the Special Operations Group was hopelessly in love with its captain. He had shielded Fu Yuan from the uncanny realm and taken on corruption in his place, risking his life to protect him. Yet Fu Yuan was always at parties, embracing and flirting with the men and women who threw themselves at him, while looking at Shen Yunqi with such distance that they seemed like nothing more than ordinary colleagues.
Everyone said Fu Yuan treated Shen Yunqi like a plaything with no name or status. And yet, whenever Fu Yuan was gravely injured and close to death, he would weakly call Shen Yunqi’s name and hook their little fingers together, asking him to stay.
So Shen Yunqi stayed, for seven years.
Later, an inspector was parachuted in from headquarters.
On the day the laid-back new superior started work, he cornered Shen Yunqi in the office and stared fixedly at the marks of uncanny corruption on his neck. His smile was just like that of a playboy teasing a young woman. “Deputy Captain Shen, who did you get hurt for?”
“Why does this inspector think... it wasn’t worth it?”
The subordinates all egged them on, saying He Ran was trying to steal Fu Yuan’s partner. But Fu Yuan only smiled without a word. He knew better than anyone how loyal and sentimental Shen Yunqi was. They had depended on each other since their days in the orphanage, and Shen Yunqi had become a pillar of the Security Bureau. Shen Yunqi couldn’t leave him. After all, Shen Yunqi’s other childhood friend had died in the early days of the uncanny arrival, and the grass on his grave was already two meters tall.
Shen Yunqi had only him left.
It wasn’t until news that Shen Yunqi had been gravely injured jolted him awake from his life of indulgence that he rushed to the hospital. But when he pushed open the ward door, he saw only He Ran embracing and kissing Shen Yunqi. The profile of Shen Yunqi’s lowered face overlapped with startling clarity with the outline of someone Fu Yuan had long since forgotten.
After losing his memories, He Ran had drifted through seven muddled years. He had finally clawed his way up from the bottom, from an ordinary civilian to a senior official in the Security Bureau, thanks to his merits. Then he suddenly discovered that he was merely a background character in a bittersweet unrequited-love novel disguised as a story about the uncanny returning. If he didn’t change the plot, he would die a year later.
He had sneered at this so-called plot, until he saw the original novel’s protagonist, the one who was tormented by the top for the entire story.
His lost memories suddenly came flooding back. He Ran’s eyes reddened with rage. Damn it, wasn’t that the wife he had cherished since they were children?
So He Ran took advantage of his promotion to transfer into the Special Operations Group. When he fixed his gaze on the legendary aloof god of slaughter, his heart pounded like a drum.
Later, an enraged Fu Yuan kicked open the inspector’s office door and happened to catch He Ran holding Shen Yunqi close, lowering his head to undo the buttons of his shirt. Shen Yunqi, who was always so cold, didn’t resist. His face was merely flushed as he let He Ran leave a mark on his collarbone, and only when he heard the door open did he scramble in alarm into He Ran’s arms.
The impeccably dressed inspector seemed to have guessed who had arrived, but didn’t stop. He only lifted his head, eyes full of mocking amusement.
“Captain Fu, you didn’t really think you were his only childhood friend, did you?”

Reader’s Guide:
1. The story should have roughly equal viewpoints for the top and bottom. Since it opens from the bottom’s point of view, it’s tentatively listed as bottom-focused.
2. Both are physically and romantically exclusive. The main top is faithful in love, and the bottom has no other romantic experience besides his entanglement with the original top, which was not a straightforward romantic love. The top and bottom dote on each other. The original top is physically experienced but not faithful, as the blurb indicates. The original top is written as physically inexperienced not to whitewash him, but because thinking of him as experienced would make me feel sick and I wouldn’t be able to write this story. He flirts with other people but has no actual sexual relationships with them. A man who doesn’t cherish his wife can only end up a loser, so don’t worry.
3. The story is set against the return of the uncanny, but that serves as background.
4. The original top, the main top, and the bottom were all childhood friends. For special reasons, the bottom and the original top don’t remember what the main top looked like. In short, the main top is the bottom’s childhood friend, a sudden new arrival, and a beloved who came back from the dead.
5. More details will be added if I think of them.
Theme: Love means giving to each other.
