The blood-covered Demon Venerable gripped his throat. Meeting the hatred in his gaze, he smiled, mad and grief-stricken. "Ye Shi'an, I want you to hate me, then have no choice but to love me."

Later, the Immortal Alliance lost its greatest treasure, and the Demon Realm gained a bloodstained sword.

The black-haired demon general, with blood-red eyes and a demonic mark burning like fire between his brows, pointed his sword at the immortals.

His former fellow disciples knelt in a pool of blood and repented, but he lifted a hand and crushed an immortal's soul. "My lord's orders: leave no survivors."

He was no longer anyone's savior. He was only Su Yuan's most loyal blade.

Su Yuan did two things in his life that went against his nature.

First, as a youth, he endured excruciating pain while Ye Shi'an bandaged his wounds. Second, a hundred years later, he personally shattered Ye Shi'an's pride.

He hid all his tenderness and forced Ye Shi'an to shed his immortal bones, demonic energy curling around him. Yet at night, he wrapped his dragon tail around the sleeping demon general and kissed away the cold sweat brought on by his nightmares.

"Hate me if you want... It's better than letting them defile you."

Afterward, when Ye Shi'an took control of the Immortal Alliance once more, people often spotted the Demon Venerable with marks on his neck.

The immortal lord kept writing without looking up. "Su Yuan, put your tail away."

The black dragon coiled around his waist and chuckled. "But last night, Immortal Lord, you were so passionate when you clung to me and gave me orders."

Reader Notes:

1. Both leads are devoted and powerful. After his sect betrays him, the shou is forcibly corrupted by the gong and turned into a demon, losing all his memories. He goes from a sunny immortal-sect disciple to an emotionless demon general.

2. The former sect will face its comeuppance. They may become better people, but the shou will not forgive them.

3. The gong is a dragon, so he has some dragon-like physical characteristics.

4. Although the gong forcibly corrupts the shou, he does it with the shou's best interests at heart.

5. The gong is a Demon Venerable, but he's actually a good person. () I won't make the protagonists do bad things.

6. After being corrupted, the shou is mechanically and absolutely loyal to the gong, without feelings, like a preprogrammed system.

7. Though the shou seems to become an absolutely obedient subordinate, the gong is the one who suffers more, because he wants his wife alive and full of feeling. He appears completely composed, but is often losing his mind.
