A story about spreading love and peace in a world of the supernatural (not really)
A laid-back, cool-headed male lead (with a hidden crazy side) x a gentle, emotionless male secondary lead (with hidden, overwhelming combat prowess)
Note: Two male leads, no romance. The male lead and the second male lead share a bond, with feelings going both ways. The arrows are extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely thick. They're each other's one and only, and no one else can come between them. I didn't file this under danmei because I feel that love isn't enough to describe their feelings for each other, or rather, their bond can't be defined simply as romantic love. Both male leads are beautiful, powerful, and tragic, and they save each other.
A quick summary of how they get along:
Second male lead: Don't be so dependent on me. I can't be your therapist, mother, sharpest weapon, strongest shield, best friend, worst enemy, and life mentor all at once. (Said helplessly, but gently.)
Male lead: Aren't you all those things? (Puppy eyes, tugging at his sleeve.jpg)
The supernatural was returning, and ghosts roamed everywhere. The ghosts and monsters from horror novels and urban legends descended upon the world one day. Everyone avoided them, afraid of bringing disaster upon themselves.
A bus fueled by human blood rolled slowly to a stop. Its mottled doors opened like a gaping maw.
Fang Yuzhou paid his fare, grabbed the neck of the rotten-faced conductor as he lunged at him with bared claws, and smiled faintly at the headless driver, who had turned around at some point.
"Sorry, I'm working on a project about using blood as mechanical fuel. Please cooperate."
The next day, blood was put to use as a new energy source, breaking the regional isolation that had followed the supernatural resurgence.
At night, a strange knocking sometimes echoed through apartment hallways when no one was around. Anyone who heard it three times would die a gruesome death at home.
Fang Yuzhou stayed up all night clubbing. The moment the knocking started, he tore down his front door and grabbed the pale, bluish hand outside.
"Hello, I don't have a door. If you're delivering food, just come right in."
The next day, an automated food delivery system went online. With one click, food could be delivered right to your door, so no one had to risk going outside to find something to eat.
At midnight, a mysterious phone call came in. There was no way to escape or refuse, and no one who answered ever survived.
Fang Yuzhou shut off every signal on his phone. The instant it rang at midnight, he cheered, a lollipop in his mouth, and answered in a cheerful tone.
"Sorry to bother you. This may be a bit presumptuous, but research into phones that can make and receive calls without any signal is still a blank slate in our country. Could you explain in detail?"
The next day, the national communications system was reinforced, no longer vulnerable to the strange radio waves caused by the supernatural resurgence.
Photos of gruesome murder scenes showing victims with their eyes gouged out spread across the internet. Everyone who saw one would lose their life the same way that very night.
Fang Yuzhou snatched a little girl's phone on the street, deleted the image that had just loaded, then went home and fell straight into bed. In the middle of the night, he felt a cold, sticky hand reach around his sunglasses and touch the edge of his eye socket.
"I'd like to help you meet your quota, but giving you my eyes is a bit much."
Fang Yuzhou took off his sunglasses and yawned. Then he smiled at the terrifying female ghost, who was covered in blood and shrieking in terror as Shen Yichi held her by the crown of her head.
"I don't have any eyes, after all. Please understand."
The next day, a man who had been blind for ten years regained his sight, and the medical community hailed it as a miracle. Fang Yuzhou rubbed his newly healed eyes, poked Shen Yichi's face, and smiled at the slender man in front of him as he complained:
"Hey, it's been all these years. How come you still look exactly the same?"
