The Succubus Who Entered an Elite Boys’ School

This is a harem-pleaser with a playful, flirtatious lead, and the overall tone is fairly light.

Mei Lingyue is a rather unusual succubus. The flavor of the essence he absorbs changes with how much the other person likes him: affection tastes sweet, indifference is tasteless, and dislike is pungent.

After years of eating tasteless essence, he has developed something of an eating disorder. One ordinary day, he fell asleep from hunger and woke up inside a melodramatic novel set at an elite boys' school, as a beautiful and vicious cannon-fodder character.

The original character likes F1, so he resents the protagonist's love interest, who receives special attention from F1. He bullies him as soon as he opens his eyes, and spends every moment he's asleep thinking up new ways to bully him.

Later, after the protagonist's love interest gets together with F1, the protagonist's group gangs up on the original character, who ends up expelled.

But none of that has anything to do with Mei Lingyue. All he knows is that this place lets him absorb essence without getting fined, and the boys at the school are all young and full of life. All he has to do is crook a finger and he can enjoy a satisfying meal.

He stops pestering F1 and bullying the protagonist's love interest, but they seem to start acting strangely.

The protagonist's love interest begins to smell deliciously of strawberries.

F1 goes from having no scent to smelling like grapes.

Even the other members of the protagonist's group start smelling sweet and delicious.

The love interest is somewhat cool and reserved. Though his looks are striking, he usually shows little expression. But whenever he wants, he only has to crook a finger, and the male leads turn into his dogs.

Content warnings:

1. His golden finger is ridiculously powerful. Whether they're the original protagonist's love interest or the male leads, everyone eventually falls for him.

2. More warnings may be added if I think of any.

Theme: Food is the people's paramount concern.
