**A hilarious story about a young police officer getting back on his feet and becoming a civil servant!
**Not sure if this counts as a rescue, but it's definitely a ghost returning to work!
**Lots of Touken Ranbu headcanons!
Kitsunezaki: Hello! Interested in a civil service job?
A long-haired cop who died not long ago: Huh? Me?
Kitsunezaki: No problem, ghosts are fine too. The bar for getting hired in this line of work is pretty low.
Hagiwara: What's the pay?
Kitsunezaki: Meals and lodging included, 1,800 a month.
Hagiwara: ...At that price, I guess all you can hire is a ghost.
After working for a while, Hagiwara eyes the Honmaru's huge grounds, itching to do something.
Hagiwara: Can't we race cars around the Honmaru?
Kitsunezaki: No. Why not race an excavator instead?
Hagiwara: All right.
Heshikiri Hasebe: Master, please sit on me.
Hagiwara: ?
After he'd been on the job a little longer, Hagiwara lies on his side in the corridor and sighs deeply, with no mixers to attend.
Hagiwara: Are there no girls in the Honmaru?
Ran: I could be one, you know.
Hagiwara: But you've got a big package under that skirt.
So he heads to the training grounds to chat happily with his colleagues, then turns around to see someone else's husband's sword sharpening its blade, ready to strike.
Hagiwara: Ah, murderous intent...
Four years into the job, a new colleague moves in next door. Hagiwara happily brings snacks over to visit, then comes back with a bruised and swollen face.
Kitsunezaki is shocked: Did you finally get beaten up for harassing too many married colleagues?
Hagiwara: No! Nobody told me the neighbor was an incredibly handsome gorilla I know.
A month later, another new colleague moves in on the other side. With his injuries healed, Hagiwara happily runs over to pay them a visit, then comes back bruised and swollen again.
Kitsunezaki: Is there another gorilla next door?
Hagiwara: Well, that's not exactly what I'd say... though they are definitely a gorilla.
