Shizhu is a straight male Daoist priest. Even after accidentally stumbling into the world of cultivation while traveling in a Miao village and becoming the Demon Venerable Liuzhi's cultivation furnace, he remained straight through a century of mutual hatred and brawling.

A proper straight man will keep running away when a male throws himself at him and forces his love on him.

Shizhu ran away many times, and eventually made it home.

Unfortunately, the Demon Venerable chased after him, too.

Fortunately, the Demon Venerable had lost his memory. In front of Shizhu, he was no different from a pet snake, and even wagged his tail.

But how could Shizhu, a deaf college student and orphan, manage a vicious biochemical weapon with no sense of right and wrong?!

Shizhu thought his life had been miserable enough when he was a cultivation furnace.

He never expected a second ordeal after returning to Earth.

The Demon Venerable used his pot to make medicine, washed sweaters without fabric softener, and regularly drained him dry.

Shizhu: I'm straight. I hate male snakes.

Demon Venerable: Hiss?

Shizhu: I especially hate male snakes like you, who make me angry all day long.

The snake said nothing. The snake just snuggled up to him.

One day,

Shizhu brought the Demon Venerable back to the Daoist temple where he had grown up.

After regaining his memories, the Demon Venerable pinned Shizhu against the wall and sucked his blood.
