Falling Too Deep

A powerful, high-ranking substitute top × a gloomy ghostly bottom (not an actual ghost)

In the third year of being a substitute, Xu Chenzui suddenly loses all his memories. Only a blurry silhouette faintly overlaps with the startled Omega in front of him.

He takes two seconds to look at the person before him, then immediately furrows his brow in disgust. Just as when they first met, he says coldly to Yu Rimu,

"Don't look at me with those disgusting eyes."

Many people call Xu Chenzui heartless, but three years ago, someone approached him in the most despicable way and used him.

When Xu Chenzui finally learns he's a substitute, everyone expects him to take ruthless revenge. Instead, that day he grips the reddened nape of Yu Rimu's neck and, as Yu Rimu is almost lost in a daze, suddenly asks, "Is it fun, treating me as his substitute?"

Yu Rimu freezes and says nothing. Xu Chenzui gives a scornful laugh and, for the first time, leaves Yu Rimu alone in the empty house.

After that day, life goes on as usual. He doesn't press the matter, and Yu Rimu tacitly agrees not to talk about it.

But no one expects that, on Yu Rimu's birthday, Xu Chenzui will forget who Yu Rimu is, forget their past together, and forget all the countless promises he made to him.

For the first time, Yu Rimu panics and reaches for his hand, but Xu Chenzui avoids him in disgust, just as he did when they first met.

In the days that follow, Yu Rimu nearly drives himself mad trying to pretend to be the person Xu Chenzui loves most. When all else fails, he even willingly takes on the guise of the person he once hated most:

The older brother who saw through his pathetic scheme and tried to drive him away, only to be chased off by the ungrateful Xu Chenzui...

But when Xu Chenzui looks at him once more with that cold, distant gaze, Yu Rimu knows for certain:

Xu Chenzui will never love him again.
