Forced to Take Second Place

Ever since humanity's first secondary gender differentiation, conflict has arisen and spread without end. Even two people who were once inseparable can become enemies because of the social hierarchy created by differentiation

Shen Jiangchi knows this from personal experience.

As an Alpha representative, Shen Jiangchi attended a negotiation with the Omega Central Command for the first time. The first thing he said after walking in

was that he wanted to talk to Zhao Xuzhi, an Alpha like himself who had abandoned the Alpha ranks as soon as the Command began to take shape.

Even though the people at the Command said Zhao Xuzhi was on leave.

He put away the gun he'd been fiddling with, then stepped forward, leaving only this remark: "Then I'll go talk to him in person."

Everyone at the Central Command couldn't help shrinking back. ...What did they have against each other?

There are plenty of rumors about Shen Jiangchi.

The first has to do with his temperament:

He's an extremist who never pulls his punches. He's ruthless enough to blow up his own gland and take someone else down with him.

The second concerns his past love life:

He once had a boyfriend, who dumped him after Shen Jiangchi stabbed him. From then on, Shen Jiangchi held a grudge and climbed step by step to his current position, all so he could drag his ex out and kill him.

Whenever this comes up, people say the ex didn't know what was good for him. Not only did he turn down a top-tier Alpha, he even stabbed the poor guy!

But only a very small number of people know that this supposedly ungrateful ex is none other than Zhao Xuzhi, now a high-ranking official who has repeatedly represented the Omega Command.

Zhao Xuzhi himself has never mentioned Shen Jiangchi to anyone. It's as if the person who shared such passionate love with Shen Jiangchi was never him, but a stranger with the same face.
