Everyone knew Cui Duanxue had a first love he couldn't forget. Even after being dumped, he had kept thinking about him for years. He always wore a matching pair of rings, maintained the virtue of a taken man, and kept his distance from all the other bottoms.

A nosy person once asked Cui Duanxue, "Do you still love that person? What is it you still love about him?"

"Is it that he left without a word back then?"

Cui Duanxue lowered his eyes to the ring on his finger and dismissed everyone with a curt, "That's none of your business."

Although Master Cui couldn't forget his first love, he didn't drown his sorrows in alcohol. Instead, he worked diligently and conscientiously, using a full and busy life to wear himself out.

One day, he suddenly snapped out of that obsessive workaholic state and realized he'd earned enough to support himself for the rest of his life. So he decided to slack off, turned down all his work, and booked a room at a scenic guesthouse for half a month.

They say the world is vast. He wanted to go out and see it, too.

But the world was so small.

When Cui Duanxue stood in front of the guesthouse with his suitcase, he was astonished to discover that its owner was none other than the first love who had dumped him and disappeared without a word.

Cui Duanxue had once thought he would never see Ting Dieyu again in this life. He would never get the chance to see the person who had left without a word, not even a breakup.

He thought he couldn't forget him simply because Ting Dieyu was his first love, and first loves were always hard to forget. It was perfectly normal to still feel hung up on him.

But when Cui Duanxue stood in front of Ting Dieyu and met those always cool and distant eyes, he finally understood: he was simply still in love with him.

Cui Duanxue loved Ting Dieyu.

He had seven years ago, and he still did seven years later.

He couldn't hold himself back or restrain the love surging in his heart.

About this story:

1. Both leads' first love, reunited after a long separation, a fake getting-back-together-after-a-breakup story, with lots of awkwardness and characters who can't bring themselves to say what's on their minds.

But it's very sweet. You'll finish with a satisfied, knowing smile [or so I think]

2. Happy ending. The leads aren't perfect people, and their feelings for each other are very obvious [important]

3. A very melodramatic, old-school trope story, written for my own enjoyment. www
