That Salaryman Neighbor of Furuya's

Sagimiya Kan is a corporate wage slave. Working overtime until late at night is his everyday routine, and his stomach's occasional pangs are the consequence of his irregular meals. But he actually loves good food. One night, after finishing work, Sagimiya Kan came home and collapsed into bed. He hadn't eaten properly all day, and at eight in the morning his ravenous stomach woke him up. The delicious aroma of cooking drifted through the air. He really couldn't resist. After giving himself a thorough pep talk, Sagimiya Kan knocked on his neighbor's door. He asked cautiously, "Sorry, your cooking smells so good. Could I have a little? I won't eat for free! I'll trade you anything you want!" * Rei Furuya never expected the neighbor who had moved in not long ago to knock on his door one morning. His neighbor kept such irregular hours that Rei only heard him come home late at night, just as he was getting ready for bed. And when Rei returned from his morning run and started making breakfast, the neighbor had already left. He looked at the slim young man standing before him, a little shorter than himself and wearing black-framed glasses. Out of politeness, and a subtle feeling of sympathy, he invited him inside. His neighbor looked far too thin. If he were a police officer, his physical condition would be completely unacceptable. So... One meal wouldn't hurt. Rei Furuya looked at his neighbor, who sat at the dining table looking a little uneasy, and thought that he'd made a bit too much food that morning, after all.
