As you can see, I'm a vampire, a noble, beautiful, and powerful race.
Unfortunately, both my parents are dead. Because I'm the most despised and scorned kind of vampire, a half-breed, my people abandoned me without mercy, even though I was still a child.
The good news: A very wealthy couple took pity on me and kindly adopted me.
The bad news: They're vampire hunters living under assumed identities.
They have a son three years older than me, my brother in name, at least.
But we don't get along. We love making life difficult for each other, and you could call us sworn enemies.
Even so, he's still willing to treat me like his own little brother.
Half-breeds don't need to drink blood to stay alive. Because of my genes, I hate sunlight, but even the hottest sunlight can't hurt me.
So I've always managed to keep my identity a secret. No one has discovered I'm a vampire.
Then, on my fifteenth birthday, I unexpectedly awakened to the truth: I'm the hidden villain in a story.
According to the story, at a grand banquet one day, I'll accidentally pick up a vampire's wine glass, drink the blood inside, and reveal my true identity.
This is the source of every nightmare.
After that, my adoptive parents, unable to accept that I'm a vampire, will abandon me. I'll be hunted and nearly killed, and even my brother, who has always taken my side, will turn a cold shoulder to me.
As expected, I'll turn evil. My heart will keep urging me to kill them, and my sick possessiveness won't let my brother treat me that way. So I'll become the irredeemable villain they all condemn.
In the end, an angelic male lead will appear and save my brother, body and soul, becoming the perfect match admired by everyone.
And my fate, of course, will be to have my heart pierced and die a horrible death.
I laughed it off and didn't take it seriously, but events really did start unfolding just like the story said.
I became the target of everyone's hatred, just as expected.
Although I didn't exactly suffer, being manipulated like this still infuriated me, until the destined male lead who would change everything appeared.
But why would I let him interfere so easily?
I decided to give up. Someone else can follow this damn villain plot.
For vampires, all it takes is entering a long sleep. Close your eyes, and a hundred years will fly by. When you wake up, the world will have completely changed.
But to avoid suspicion and keep anyone from disturbing me, I drew up a detailed plan for my own death.
Faking your death is either a one-time thing or something you do over and over.
But... damn it, can someone tell me why my adoptive parents are putting up missing-person notices and offering a huge reward, why the hunters' organization has stormed the vampires' headquarters to question them about where I am, and why my fiance has appeared out of nowhere and keeps searching for me nonstop?
And that shameless sworn enemy of a brother, what the hell? I just lay down, and you're already lifting the coffin lid and dragging me back out again?
* The main story is primarily told in third person.
No angst, just pure wish fulfillment.
