Jin Shu transmigrates on the spot with a pancake in her mouth: ? Hold on.
The single-player game God Simulator becomes her exclusive cheat. Destruction and creation, disaster and blessing, are all at her whim... or so you'd think.
Her control extends over only a small stretch of ocean. Seeds cost emotional points, rain costs emotional points, natural disasters and human calamities cost emotional points, and creating life costs an astronomical number of emotional points.
So here's the question: how can she earn emotional points, meaning intense feelings caused by her?
In short: make people hate her, make them cry, and put them through the highest highs and lowest lows.
A helpful on-screen tip: [To collect intense emotional reactions, suggested methods include creating love triangles, starting wars, and faking your death after becoming everyone's beloved]
Jin Shu finishes her last sip of soy milk and says no. She wants to write novels.
The kind where nobody gets paid unless there's angst.
The mysterious, arrogant pirate swordsman is unfathomably strong, yet willingly dies at the hands of his family. The bright, kindhearted Marine girl fights for justice, yet perishes before dawn. The cold, sickly doctor saves a thousand lives, yet watches his family die of illness. The cowardly, hypocritical con artist is selfish and cruel, yet willingly gives his life for his friends...
Jin Shu picks up her pen: Let's write another sweet love story with a tragic lifespan gap.
Pirates and Marines in a tavern weep together as they raise their glasses to a fictional character. The high-and-mighty Celestial Dragons call it vulgar even as they order the next chapter. People even build an unnamed statue just to commemorate the novel's finale...
No one knows that the characters keeping them awake all night were born from an "God" carefully comparing prices in the emotional points shop.
They wail as she's putting them through the wringer, while Jin Shu rakes in a fortune.
After collecting countless tears and emotional points, Jin Shu runs into a problem.
As a god, she can't leave her domain in her own identity.
So she spends a huge number of emotional points to buy an ability: she can go out wearing the secret identity of one of her own characters, as long as she stays in character, and still have the time of her life.
How will she explain it?
No big deal. As long as she can patch the lore and dish out angst fast enough, she can save people while having fun. There's no difficulty at all, aside from having to act out the novel's plot before she can go home.
Her emotional points and reputation soar together, her affection and money gauges are maxed out, and with her top-notch ability to spin a story and a little help from her novels, Jin Shu's influence rivals that of an Emperor of the Sea.
Oh, she already is one.
But when Jin Shu looks back, she can't help but fall silent.
The Empress, saved by a reporter who she then watched die / Mihawk, who receives a letter and a bottle of wine only to learn his friend's dead / Garp, who treated the Marine girl like his own granddaughter / Whitebeard, who was mistaken for someone's dad because of one slip of the tongue by the doctor, and actually went along with it / the Straw Hat Pirates, who tracked her down based on the con artist's few words... all stare silently at Jin Shu.
Some even hitch a ride, arriving in pairs. The emotional-points alert chimes blend with the sorrowful atmosphere until it's suffocating.
Jin Shu, who accidentally gave herself some plot armor too, and is publicly known as the captains, relatives, or friends of her various secret identities: ...
She calmly decides to stop being human altogether.
What's so hard about filling in an OC's backstory? She's got this!
Oblivious to the fact that people have also imagined her as a tragic, beautiful, and strong character whose companions, family, and friends all died, she obediently starts writing.
