A school band novel
Cold, stoic genius heroine VS happy puppy who only wants to start a band
Song Shishi's first impression of Jiang Yicheng was that he was an immature, edgy teenager who loved acting cool.
He thought of nothing but music, shouted edgy slogans like "Rock is everything," and said he wanted to start a band at school and make it to a bigger stage.
His ambitions were certainly lofty.
It's good for a young person to have dreams,
but reality can be harsh.
The dean was furious and made him write an apology on the flag-raising platform.
But Jiang Yicheng was an optimist. When Song Shishi finished her speech as an outstanding student and came down from the stage, she happened to pass by him. Though he was about to go up and give his apology, he cheerfully grabbed her and thrust a flyer into her hand. "Hey, our band is performing tomorrow. Come check us out!"
Later, at the school gate, she saw Jiang Yicheng with a guitar on his back and a bedhead, aggressively confronting the person blocking his way.
Song Shishi expected the two of them to start cursing and throwing punches at any moment. Instead, she heard Jiang Yicheng snap impatiently at the man in front of him, "You think you can stop me? Who do you think you are, a crumb?"
He used his fiercest tone to say the least intimidating thing imaginable.
She thought expressionlessly.
Oh, so he's an idiot too.
But she couldn't deny that Jiang Yicheng was a handsome idiot with a bit of charm.
What Song Shishi didn't expect was that one day, the immature idiot she'd written off would grab her hand and run out of school with her, without a second thought.
They didn't stop until they reached an open-air stage. Exhausted, they lay down together.
They gazed up at the stars, panting.
After a while, Jiang Yicheng propped his head on his arm and turned to her with a smile.
"Listen."
He put one of his earbuds in her ear.
A melody with a distinctive rhythm flowed into her ear, and Song Shishi held her breath as she listened.
When it ended, she asked,
"What is this?"
Jiang Yicheng's eyes shone as he said each word clearly: "It's your heartbeat."
He lifted his chin proudly, as if waiting for her praise.
"It's the first song I've ever written. It's for you."
Then Jiang Yicheng solemnly took her hand and placed it on his chest. His voice was clear as the wind, and he looked at the girl before him with earnest eyes. "I want you to know that in here, you will always be free."
Later, he really did break through every obstacle and take the band he'd painstakingly put together to a bigger stage.
As the song ended, amid dazzling lights, the boy raised his microphone and smiled. Together with the band members behind him, he shouted fearlessly to the audience below, "Remember, we're everyone's, "
The audience shouted in unison: "The Cookies Band!"
At that moment, echoes rang out, streamers burst into the air, and cheers filled the venue.
Amid the surging crowd, he looked only at her, his dark eyes shining.
He mouthed each word slowly: "I belong only to you."
