Oil painter with special needs x fire station captain
Second chance romance | Mutual healing | A tribute to firefighters | Respect and care for people with special needs
1. While in the hospital, Wen Xi felt she was beyond saving, so she threw tantrums and made a mess of her own life, until she finally met someone tough enough to put up with her and managed to get herself admitted.
In the corridor, the man looked at her in her wheelchair with a cold expression. He simply plucked the piece of broken glass from her palm and tossed it into the trash can beside them, right in front of her.
It had taken her so much effort to get that piece of glass.
Wen Xi: "..."
He was so annoying. She hated him. Couldn't he just stay away from her?
But a few days later, she was scooting closer and closer to him on a bench. When he caught her, she still had to put on an arrogant, contrary act and add, "Can't you come a little closer?"
Shen Congyue held her head down, almost laughing with exasperation. "Wen Xi, are you a schoolgirl or a little hooligan?"
Oh, right. He still thought she was a high school girl.
A middle-aged man and a young girl.
He was even more outrageous than she was.
2. Wen Xi never expected to rekindle things with Shen Congyue, just as she had never expected to break up with him back then.
The day they broke up was supposed to be his proudest day. The man, proud to his very bones and dressed in his military uniform, lowered his head before her, his eyes red as he repeatedly asked her, his voice shaking, if she couldn't please stay with him.
She was unmoved and calmly told him that she would forget him, no matter how long it took.
He laughed scornfully, stopped pestering her, and never looked back after leaving.
3. When the fire station captain, who had always been single, suddenly got married, the people on Shen Congyue's team couldn't believe it.
Didn't they say Captain Shen had never gotten over his first love?
Word was that his first love was a real heartbreaker who dumped Captain Shen as soon as they got together.
So who on earth was this new sister-in-law?!
Wen Xi, who had quietly been watching the drama unfold between them, guiltily touched her nose and slowly raised her hand.
"Um... I think I can explain what happened."
They'd gotten their marriage certificate, but it had all happened so quickly. Surely their relationship wasn't that deep yet. Maybe they'd just go their separate ways.
But a few days later, during a fire station event, some of the team members saw their captain take Teacher Wen by the hand and lead her straight behind a fire engine. Not long after, they heard a few quiet words.
"How is it? Are your hands still cold?"
It was their usually aloof and unsociable fire station captain, gently coaxing his wife while rubbing her hands to warm them.
"Don't hold my hand. What if someone sees us?"
The girl's voice sounded flustered and hurried. When her repeated attempts to stop him failed, she simply used her hands.
A sharp smack rang out, leaving everyone stunned.
But the man who'd been slapped wasn't angry at all. He remained calm and composed, his smile even more obvious than before. His dark eyes rested on the girl's flushed cheeks, now with a hint of roguish ease.
"Don't want to hold hands? Then you must want a kiss."
"Come on, sweetheart, give me a kiss."
Everyone blinked in disbelief.
So Captain Shen was... being clingy?
Coming soon: Romantic Planet
Well-behaved, cool-headed traditional top student x aloof, cocky genius and competition champion

For Yu Shi,
Zhou Yu remembered her far more clearly than he remembered her name.
The first time Yu Shi caught his attention,
he was sitting idly in the convenience store with his legs stretched out, his long, strong fingers deftly twisting a Rubik's Cube. The veins on the back of his hand stood out faintly.
Then a clear, soft voice sounded above him.
"Excuse me, can I pay?"
A shadow fell over him.
He looked up at the girl standing at the counter. She was dressed very lightly.
She wore a pale-pink camisole with lace trim and short denim shorts that ended at the top of her thighs, along with a pair of slippers.
The legs in front of the counter were fair and straight.
But her face looked vaguely familiar.
He raised an eyebrow, set the completed Rubik's Cube on the counter, and looked at her with interest. "You're from No. 1 High School. What's your name?"
The girl didn't seem surprised. She answered obediently, "My name is Yu Shi. But..."
She sighed halfway through, her tone a little helpless. "This is the third time you've asked my name."
The boy stared at her face for a moment, then chuckled and replied, "All right."
He leaned back lazily against the wall and folded his arms.
His voice was casual as he spoke. "There won't be a next time."
-
One day after the college entrance exams, she left home and instinctively looked toward his place.
She saw him standing at the entrance to the convenience store, his tall frame leaning halfway against the doorframe like a tired sheep.
A woman dressed very elegantly was scolding him, and he looked indifferent.
Only when he heard the last thing she said did he look a little impatient and reply coldly, "What more do you want?"
Then, as he lifted his eyes, he looked past the woman in front of him and saw Yu Shi standing not far behind his mother. He fell silent, turned around, and went inside without a word.
That evening, Yu Shi wore slippers and passed him a popsicle through the window.
"Come out and eat a popsicle."
He stared at it and scoffed. "What's so good about these things?"
Then the two of them sat side by side on a bench, listening to the cicadas in the summer night and the noise of passersby, quietly eating their popsicles.
After Yu Shi had sat lost in thought for a while, she let out a long sigh, lowered the stick, now half-wet, and said languidly:
"Humans are so boring."
She turned her head toward the boy beside her, who had finished his popsicle long ago.
He came out of his reverie too, turned to meet her eyes, and said,
"The whole planet is boring."
She smiled and nodded, propping her head on her hand as she continued:
"Then let's go to another planet. Maybe it won't be so boring there."
The boy scoffed and replied coldly, "Dream on."
"It's nighttime already."
"But the fact is, you've already started dreaming."
-
A few days later, Yu Shi opened the window that had just been knocked on.
The greenery by the window was still growing vigorously, but now there was also a very crude handmade craft that looked like a little planet.
There was a note attached, covered in bold, sweeping handwriting.
"Daydreamer, your planet is here."
She reached out and nudged the little planet. It wobbled back and forth.
Then she turned around to fetch a pen.
A line of neat handwriting appeared on the note.
"Then, Zhou the great artist, is this your romantic planet with me?"
A few things to know before starting: 1) The story touches on some mathematical topics. The author will do their best to research them and write them accurately, but I'm not a professional, so please bear with me if anything is off.
2) The souls of two geniuses collide, and they heal each other.
3) Very sweet, very sweet, with no major angst.

The male protagonist said that it was easy for him as a thirty-one-year-old man to hold back, but how could the female protagonist, as a thirty-year-old woman, endure it! I hope men won't use this kind of words as an excuse to not be able to bear it, and practice cooking more (pointing and pointing) (promoting male morality)
