His friends called Lai Ye “honest, and not much of a talker,” because he was “old, and not much for the truth.”
His reputation was so notorious that the Honest Man Roleplaying System selected him and bound itself to him.
System mission: [Forgive your wife for cheating, raise the child she had with someone else, take the biggest fall, and play the most miserable victim.]
Lai Ye: …This System would have to be reliable for that to happen.
Sure enough, the unreliable System sent him to a world of insectoids, then failed to load the original novel.
Luckily, Lai Ye took one look at his dying female husband and little bug cub kneeling at his feet and understood what was going on.
This scene was so classic that he didn’t need the original novel to figure it out.
Wasn’t this just a case of discovering, after years of marriage, that the child wasn’t his?
Getting angry over this? The original host was a disgrace to honest men.
Lai Ye immediately dropped to his knees and wrapped his arms around his female husband. In a pained, restrained voice, he said, “I’m sorry. I was impulsive just now. I’ll treat you and the baby well from now on!”

To raise his honesty score as quickly as possible, Lai Ye dedicated himself to cultivating the image of an “honest bug” in every aspect of life, even when posting on the interstellar forums.
Just as the new emperor took the throne, the insectoid race began implementing a “one female to one male” policy for the first time in its history. This enormous change sparked fierce opposition from the conservative faction. On certain regional forums, the conservatives’ overwhelming numbers and volume drowned out the reformists.
A conservative ordinary citizen posted: [I’m a military female. Thanks to the one-female-to-one-male policy, I married the male I love and became his female husband. My life looks happy, but it isn’t. I never dare look my husband in the eye. I’m afraid I’ll see him longing for other females and feeling disappointed in me. I think that without the one-female-to-one-male policy, my husband would surely be much happier than he is now…]
Comments: Waaaah, for the physical and mental well-being of our male citizens, we firmly oppose the one-female-to-one-male policy!
Lai Ye, a conservative too, posted: [I’m a male. Thanks to the one-female-to-one-male policy, I married the bug I love and made him my female husband. I never dare look him in the eye. I know he doesn’t love me at all, and the little bug cub I love isn’t even my biological child. I often wonder whether, without the one-female-to-one-male policy, he’d rather marry the male he loves as his seventh female concubine than choose me. Even so, I’ll wish him well. I hope the one-female-to-one-male policy is abolished, so he can pursue the happiness he wants…]

The reformists were confused: W-wait, is this really a conservative?
Lai Ye replied: Yes. I’m a very conservative, honest bug.

The post had such a huge impact that the conservatives blocked Lai Ye, convinced he was an undercover agent.
In a fit of anger, Lai Ye set up his own forum and started posting carefully crafted, outrageous cheating scandals, taking both conservatives and reformists down a peg.
[My senior is about to marry a wealthy male eighty years older than him as his tenth female concubine. I can’t accept him abandoning me and heading off to happiness alone. I’m only 185 centimeters tall, my mental strength and physical fitness are both just S rank, and I only have a fifth of his assets. We also disagree politically, since I’m a staunch supporter of the one-female-to-one-male policy. But thankfully, I’m a male. I only have to force myself on my senior once, and then I can marry him whether he likes it or not.]
Conservatives: ?
Reformists: Reported for inappropriate content.
Passing netizen: There goes another one.
[Waaaah, my senior is such a good person, so gentle. He stroked my head and comforted me, saying that if there’s a next life, he’ll be with me. I don’t want him to be disappointed in me. Waaaah, everyone, tell me what to do.]
[Paid poll: A. Reveal that you’re a male and force your senior to marry you. B. Leave quietly, never marry, and watch over him for the rest of your life.]

To save his dying adoptive father, Faier kidnapped the male Lai Ye to obtain his healing factor.
Faier was prepared to pay for it with his life. Unexpectedly, on that night of fevered passion, he got more than a healing factor from the male. He also conceived an egg.
The one-female-to-one-male policy was being vigorously implemented at the time, and Faier was lucky enough to marry Lai Ye and become his female husband.
Unfortunately, a policy was only a policy. It couldn’t change the hearts of insectoids. After they married, Faier meekly accepted whatever Lai Ye did to him. Only once did he resist, acting on instinct.
That one time made his husband mend his ways… No, it made him hit his head and lose his mind.
From that day on, Lai Ye changed completely. He put down the whip and picked up a spatula; put down the liquor bottle and picked up a baby bottle. He attended the little bug cub’s parent-teacher meetings again and again, and clung to Faier at night again and again, expressing “an honest male’s fury.”
Faier spent each happy day in a daze. He enjoyed his husband’s seemingly purposeful kindness while waiting for the day he’d be called to account, like a condemned prisoner awaiting execution.

A year later, the reformists announced victory. The one-female-to-one-male policy would be enshrined in insectoid law forever.
The Male Protection Association retaliated in anger and began reopening old cases involving males.
In court, Lai Ye tearfully defended Faier: “I’ve posted countless cheating scandals in my life. Only my very first post was true. It was the truth from the bottom of my heart! I know that in insectoid society, a female must be loyal to her male, and cheating is a serious crime. But Faier is different. He didn’t do it on purpose!”
Faier: ?
Lai Ye: “The reason Faier cheated is all my fault. I’m the one who made him cheat!”
Faier: “W-wait…”
Lai Ye said, his voice pained and restrained: “I’m impotent. I can’t perform. Faier just wanted a bug cub, and because I couldn’t give him one, he had to choose someone else. How is that his fault? If anyone’s to blame, it’s me. Arrest me if you have to arrest someone!”
Faier: “Wait!!!!!!”
Judge: “Please maintain decorum in court. Save the public displays of affection for home. Next case.”

Mini-scene 1
Faier: “By the Bug God, if I’ve done something wrong, let the law punish me. Don’t let my husband post cheating scandals on the interstellar web, have me play a gentle senior in school only to be forced into marriage, play an aloof heartthrob adored by thousands during my service only to be relentlessly pursued, and then cheat on him with more than twenty ‘true loves’ after we’re married, all because I’m greedy for money…”
Mini-scene 2
According to historical records, the region of Atlan, once known as the “City That Never Fell,” not only became one of the first regions to fall during the new king’s one-female-to-one-male reforms, to the surprise of all insectoids, but also gave rise to a third faction as conservatives and reformists fought. It later came to be known as
The Lai Ye faction.
As usual, the male lead dotes on the female lead. There’s a little cub to raise in this one, too (the cub has a slight disability, which will get better at the “right” time).
The cub is Lai Ye’s biological child. He transmigrated twice: the first time, he left behind the cub; the second time, he transmigrated for real.
A chaotic male parent, a helpless female parent, and a bewildered bug cub: my take on the standard insectoid family.
There are forum posts, but they don’t make up much of the story.
