[Capetian Dynasty] My Father Is Dead, and the Crown Isn't Mine

My birth mother was accused of adultery, imprisoned, and died in disgrace. My birth father passed away amid the treacherous intrigues of the palace, leaving a young widow and her child behind. My young stepmother gave birth to a baby brother who lived only five days, and then my ambitious uncle usurped the crown.

No one understood better than Jeanne, Queen of Navarre, what it meant to face disaster from the start. Before she could be called a queen or a wife, she should rightfully have been called a queen and a princess. Power was a man's game, Odo of Burgundy told his young niece. Letting women rule France would only destabilize the realm. His words might not have wounded Jeanne so deeply if he hadn't married the daughter of Philip the Regent.

Yet when Jeanne, who had died of plague, returned to the French court of her childhood, and was once again forced into the aftermath of the Tour de Nesle affair, no one could believe that a queen would emerge from a world hostile to her, with the royal collateral branches closing in on every side.

"I am a daughter of Saint Louis, of the bloodline of Philip the Fair. The blood of a roaring she-wolf runs through my veins, just as it did through my aunt's. Therefore, no law can force me to take off my crown. The tongues that cursed Queen Blanche also called me a wicked wife and a tyrannical usurper. Yet, from my time onward, all generations will call me blessed."

First, I must give Louis X ten more years to live.

Tips:

1. Follows the account that Jeanne was six or seven when Louis X died.

2. Pairing with Philip of Évreux, historically Philip III of Navarre. Their marriage of convenience becomes true love.

3. Alternate history, female lead is neither a transmigrator nor equipped with a System.

4. The writing is rough, and the language and logic may be somewhat disordered.
