CK3: The Central European Eagle - The Life of Sybille Von Heldrungen

"She was wicked by nature, yet so beautiful that a single glance from her conquered half the world." - History of the Holy Roman Empire, 13th century, Helius

When people speak of the Holy Roman Empire's ruling House of Heldrungen, which governed vast stretches of Rome, they always mention the legendary empress hidden beneath layers of yellowing history: the first Catherine of the Holy Roman Empire. She raised fourteen children, all of whom became great heroes or emperors. She had eight husbands, every one of whom met an unnatural death... Her descendants ruled over rich lands stretching from the raging waves of the North Sea to the sands of North Africa, from Brittany's coastal cliffs to the snowy lands of Kievan Rus. Her beauty, amorous nature, and overwhelming power were celebrated everywhere.

Her wealth could buy Constantinople, the unconquered city of Byzantium. Her fierce warriors could offer her the homeland of the infidels. Her ships charted the golden route from Venice to the silk-producing lands of the Far East. People said her fleet was laden with Arabian spices and porcelain white as snow, while the cold waters swallowed her enemies.

In the name of God, let us offer our highest praise to the grandmother of Europe, the great Her Majesty Sibylle von Heldrungen!

Warning: The female lead has more than one lover and more than one soulmate. Readers who are particularly sensitive about romance should proceed with caution.
