[Coming Soon] The Electronic Desktop Pet of a Brooding Tycoon
[VIP chapters begin at Chapter 25.]
When Mo Ningzhi worked as an entertainment reporter, he spent ages trashing Qin Weijin online.
In his eyes, Qin Weijin was a disgraced celebrity who hit and berated his assistants, insulted his fans, paid to smear his rivals, and lived an extremely questionable private life. His misdeeds were practically too numerous to list.
To dig up dirt, Mo Ningzhi infiltrated fan groups all over the internet. Thanks to his excellent acting skills, he quickly became a fixture in the groups, even working his way up to moderator and group owner.
But not long after becoming a moderator of one of Qin Weijin’s antis’ groups, he somehow ended up interviewing for a job as Qin Weijin’s assistant.
To maintain his cover, on his first day at the studio Mo Ningzhi shamelessly declared:
“I’m Brother Jin’s number-one superfan! I’m the head of the fan atmosphere team! I watch every new drama at least ten times, never miss an offline event, and have at least ten gigabytes of his photos on my phone!”
Before he could finish, he came face-to-face with Qin Weijin.
“My number-one superfan?” The man raised an eyebrow.
Mo Ningzhi: “…”
No, I’m your head anti.
-
Not long after starting the job, Qin Weijin was besieged by antis and couldn’t get anywhere.
Mo Ningzhi calmly got out of the car. After a brief discussion, the antis (his friends) obediently dispersed.
Qin Weijin: ?
-
During a shoot, a crew member brought Qin Weijin a bottle of soda.
Mo Ningzhi calmly intercepted it. “He’s allergic to [redacted].”
Qin Weijin, who had never told anyone what he was allergic to: ?
-
While staying overnight at a hotel, Qin Weijin’s whereabouts were leaked. Sasaeng fans took pictures of him, and the area outside was packed with people.
Mo Ningzhi stepped in front of him and held back a camera that was nearly shoved in his face. “If you’ve got the stamina to stake him out around the clock, track his schedule, and invade his privacy, it’s a waste not to become police officers! Want me to call the local station for you? All those skills would come in handy chasing fugitives.”
Qin Weijin looked at the lean but upright figure before him and slowly smiled.
-
Everyone in showbiz knew Qin Weijin had found himself an all-around assistant: polished enough for a formal occasion, able to cook, capable of quelling an anti-fan riot and dealing with the little vixens trying to climb into his bed. He was so perfect it made people jealous!
Mo Ningzhi simply said, “No big deal.”
He waved smugly, failing to notice the increasingly peculiar look Qin Weijin was giving him.
-
Being an assistant was no easy job. You had to get up earlier than a chicken, go to bed later than a dog, stay on call twenty-four hours a day, and sleep on public transport every day.
As an anti, Mo Ningzhi spent several months undercover at Qin Weijin’s side and nearly worked himself to death.
So he decided to quit and go home to live a lazy life.
He never expected Qin Weijin to come after him at home. Without a word, he pinned Mo Ningzhi’s wrist over his head, gritting his teeth in anger. “You like me, don’t you? You know what I’m allergic to, you’re involved in all my private affairs, and you solve every problem for me… I never said I didn’t like you back. So why are you running?”
Mo Ningzhi was so shocked he felt like he’d been struck by lightning.
Damn it, I really am your anti!

The Electronic Desktop Pet of a Brooding Tycoon
Blurb: Hu Cong’an was so obsessed with the villainous supporting character in a certain danmei comic that he couldn’t put the book down. One day, he missed a step on the stairs. When he woke up, he discovered he had transmigrated.
He had become the electronic pet on the brooding villain’s phone.
He sat in a bright blue virtual interface, looking down at a pair of tiny hands and feet.
And they were cartoon hands and feet, at that.
He tried moving his hand. It worked. He wasn’t disabled.
He just wasn’t wearing any clothes.
Hu Cong’an stared at the little underpants around his waist, lost in thought.
Before he could accept his new identity, a call came in. A virtual window dropped out of nowhere and sent him flying.
“…”
“Speak,” the man said in a low, husky voice.
Hu Cong’an rubbed his butt as he got up. The caller was the villain’s nemesis in the comic, pretending to invite him to a banquet while actually setting an armed ambush along the way to kill him.
How could he let that happen? If the boss died, who’d charge his phone?
Hu Cong’an shuffled over to the call screen and tapped the hang-up button with one paw.
The man: “…”
*
After realizing he couldn’t leave the phone or escape his cartoon form, Hu Cong’an gave up trying.
Every day, he hung up on the boss’s calls, secretly replied to his messages, edited files containing traps, then snuck into the food delivery app to eat and play. Life wasn’t so bad.
The only problem was that the boss was spending more and more time staring at his phone.
One day, woken by a ringtone, Hu Cong’an glanced at the number. Bad guy. Hang up.
He rolled over to go back to sleep, only to turn and come face-to-face with a stern-looking face and a pair of chilly eyes on the other side of the screen.
“…” Oh no.
He’d been caught.
*
One day, Helian Qi realized something was off about his phone.
The icons were all over the place, there were too many apps, calls kept getting hung up for no reason, the food delivery app wouldn’t show any pictures of the dishes, and strange clothes for young men kept appearing in his home. It was as if his phone were haunted.
Then one day, he saw an electronic pet in his phone, sleeping soundly with its butt in the air.
At last, there was an explanation for everything strange that had happened.
When they first met, the pet trembled with fear at the sight of him.
Helian Qi tried every possible way to catch him, but none of them worked.
The pet stopped being afraid of him. When provoked, he’d make trouble: deleting messages Helian Qi had just typed, sending cute stickers to his nemesis, and starting group chats in the middle of the night to gossip about wealthy families…
Helian Qi’s image as a brooding tycoon shattered into pieces.
Safe behind the screen, the little pet kept pushing his luck at the edge of disaster.
Until one day, water got into the phone and short-circuited it.
Hu Cong’an popped out of the phone and landed on the carpet, staring blankly around him.
Remembering all the trouble he’d caused, he turned and ran without a second thought. He didn’t make it two steps before he went sprawling, his vision spinning backward as a warm shackle closed around his ankle.
A terrifying voice said, “Got you.”
Hu Cong’an: T.T
