[Football] Part-Time Player

Blurb: After his request to sign a defender is rejected once again, Mourinho rolls up his sleeves and storms into the owner's office. Abramovich: "Buying a defender is out of the question. If all else fails, just have Elijah fill in for now." Elijah, who already has several jobs: Me? OvO? A young man who works as both a team doctor and a part-time psychological counselor joins Chelsea. Despite everyone's skeptical looks, Elijah wins the hearts of everyone at the club in just one month. From mediating disputes between the owner and the coach to soothing the players' nerves, and occasionally stepping onto the pitch to battle it out when the squad is short-handed, Elijah is Chelsea's hardest worker. As Chelsea's trophy cabinet grows ever fuller, Elijah turns around to find a group of people fighting over him. "I've worked with Eli the longest!" "Eli is the one who brought me to Chelsea!" "Ha, Eli belongs with us Belgians!" With everyone staring at him in unison, Elijah is asked to say aloud who he truly loves most. "Chelsea." Reader's Guide: 1. The protagonist has an irresistible charm that attracts everyone. There are lots of one-sided crushes, and the protagonist has more than one romance, but the ending is open-ended. 2. There won't be too much match-related plot. This is a lighthearted, everyday-life story. Match results may differ from reality, though they will be based on real events. I apologize in advance if that offends anyone. 3. The protagonist is British/Belgian, plays for Chelsea, and represents Belgium internationally. 4. Feel free to offer suggestions, but please don't insult me (or I'll shed little pearls in my blanket). Theme: Keep your love for life alive
