Kieran is a poisonous mushroom growing in London's rainy gloom: sharp-tongued and petty, with only a handful of players better than him, and twice as many champions with more trophies to their names.
Sadly, Kieran was never one of the chosen ones. He's the backup option when there's no other choice, the eternal substitute on the bench, and even when he transfers, he's just a makeweight to balance the books.
His greatest revenge for living in the shadow of the chosen ones is to toy with their affections, empty their wallets, then kick them to the curb.
He's been a con man many times, and never once made a promise to stay with one person in one city.
But in the end, he willingly gave all his loyalty to one man: Arsene Wenger.
Reader's guide:
1. This should be a new attempt, a little different from my previous works? Kieran is unlike the other protagonists I've written. He has a tragic past and an imperfect personality: sensitive, insecure, yet conceited. He's just like a little mushroom that sprays poison.
2. He'll move between other clubs early on, but once he gets to Arsenal, he won't transfer again. His career will hit a rough patch early on, but he'll win all the trophies he deserves later.
3. The relationship dynamics are much as described in the blurb. Kieran feels nothing but hatred for everyone else. What does it matter to him if they fall in love with him? ovo. The Professor's feelings are purely those of a father for his son (?) and a mentor for his student.
4. Although the blurb sounds serious, the story itself should have a more upbeat style.
