Bai Liqi is an ordinary person who loves staying home to sleep and eat. He's well-off, but exceptionally lazy. His philosophy of life is that lying flat is good, but being dead would be even better.
After lying around at home for three months and nearly starving to death, his boss couldn't stand it anymore and recommended the all-player game Souhaiter.
Souhaiter is a romance game for all orientations, with a stellar voice cast, top-tier artists, talented character modelers, carefully written text, and an exquisite main plot with interwoven side stories. Within a month of its release, it had captured the public's hearts.
And naturally, Bai Liqi became obsessed.
Unlike other players, Bai Liqi wasn't interested in the romanceable protagonists. He only liked Yu Nian, a background character with no portrait, no model, and no voice, whose presence could only be glimpsed here and there in the story text.
Falling for a game character transformed Bai Liqi from his usual listless self into a powerhouse creating fanworks for a tiny fandom:
No high-quality fan art or fanfiction? I'll draw and write it!
Nobody's pieced together the full chain of plot logic? I'll do it!
Nobody's made a video? I'll edit one!
No one cosplays him because he's not popular? I'll cosplay him myself!
I'll do it! I'll do it! I'll do it!
My fave is, without a doubt, the best in the world!!!
(When the boss learned that Bai Liqi had become a ball of energy, his hand trembled as he lit a cigarette. Heaven knows, he only wanted to cheer the guy up, but this effect might be a little too strong.)

Yu Nian is a double-S-rank ability user, the backbone of the Souhaiter organization, and a frontline fighter against alien beasts. His excessive powers take a toll on his body, slowing his reactions and making him prone to accidentally injuring teammates. Over time, his superiors stopped assigning him partners and began grooming him to operate alone.
After an unexpected incident, Yu Nian rushed into the ruins to clean up the mess left by his superior's bad decision and rescue the buried survivors. He burned through his powers for three days and three nights, ultimately saving everyone with zero casualties.
But the ordeal left Yu Nian powerless and crippled. To protect him from retaliation by hostile forces, his superiors moved him into the organization's basement and kept him under constant guard.
With his freedom gone, Yu Nian had nothing to do but find ways to pass the time in the basement.
Then he found a game called librement, released before the alien beasts appeared.
It's a home-design simulation game. The protagonist is named Bai Liqi, and players can control him as he decorates, expands, and designs a small house. It also includes relaxing activities like running a business, growing flowers, and raising fish.
The game's art is cute and charming, the background music is soothing, and the pace is just right. It even seems to calm Yu Nian's emotions.
The protagonist, Bai Liqi, is always even-tempered. When Yu Nian gets busy with medical appointments and forgets to log in and feed him, leaving him hungry, Bai Liqi doesn't get angry. Instead, he comforts the player, saying he understands how busy he is. When Yu Nian gives him a bed with a wide-eyed frog design, Bai Liqi doesn't complain. He lies down obediently and warmly wishes Yu Nian good night.
And so Bai Liqi became Yu Nian's fave. Yu Nian devoted himself to getting Bai Liqi the biggest mansion in the game.
(When they learned that the former double-S-rank ability user was behaving himself, his superiors quietly breathed a sigh of relief.)

Thanks to Bai Liqi's tireless efforts, Yu Nian finally gained popularity in Souhaiter and caught the attention of the developers.
Today, the developers are releasing Souhaiter's first-anniversary collectible figures, and Yu Nian will appear as a secret figure in the blind boxes.
Bai Liqi found the official store and waited for sales to begin.
The moment came. He placed his order!

Bai Liqi's eyes widened.
Ten thousand, a hundred thousand... Where had his eight-digit savings gone?!

The Goddess of Fate gently spun the world's wheel. The golden pointer stopped on "property."
All right, it's decided. Today, you two will break through the dimensional barrier and share your property.
