A modern doctor, Si Yao, accidentally transmigrated to ancient times. Her family was dirt poor, and her start was disastrous. Fortunately, she was bound to a Famous Doctor System.
But the System was thoroughly unreliable. It could even lose its own code, making it a complete artificial idiot.
Later, though, the artificial idiot turned into an artificial cripple while saving her.
With no other choice, Si Yao kept a straight face and treated people, animals, and plants alike to earn points and repair the System.
A local who was often hungry: "Doctor, I can't taste anything, and my stomach hurts whenever I eat."
Si Yao: "Easy. You're malnourished. Go collect a few bags of potatoes and sweet potatoes, plus some piglets, from the entrance. Eat some, plant some, raise some, and next year your family will have so much food you'll be throwing away a bowl after every meal."
A villager who couldn't read the registration sign and thought it was a queue for fertilizer: "Doctor, what does that sign say? Can you give me a few pounds of fertilizer?"
Si Yao: "Diagnosis: illiterate. Take him to the literacy class. No fertilizer until he graduates."
A patient whose leg was broken and displaced when snow crushed his house: "Doctor, my leg, sob sob sob."
Si Yao: "Don't panic."
With that, crack! The bone was set.
Si Yao: "Go out and ask your family to collect a few bags of cement from the cement factory. Replace your thatched hut with a cement house."
A young lady who had read too many romance stories: "The love in books is so beautiful. I want to elope with a poor scholar."
Si Yao: "You've got lovesickness. It needs treatment. Take her to write dozens of romance stories and she'll come to her senses."
Then she bought How to Become a Master Writer in Three Days, If Your Writing Is Awful, Read This, and A Nanny-Level Guide to Writing Romance Stories from the System, and stuffed them all into the lovesick young lady's hands.
Three days later, the young lady sobbed, "I'll never finish! There's no way I can finish! When would I have time to elope? Sob sob sob."
The first day someone came in for treatment:
Wen Qingzhu: "Doctor, my throat is a little sore. Is there anything I can do?"
Si Yao: "Eat some chicken feet and scratch it better."
The second day:
Wen Qingzhu: "Doctor, I saw you talking to a man for three sentences too many yesterday. Today my chest feels tight, I'm short of breath, and I can hardly breathe."
Si Yao: "That's the owner of the medicine shop next door. He came to discuss business with me. If you're really that bored, go haul the manure at the village entrance."
Wen Qingzhu: "Doctor Si's skills are miraculous! My chest isn't tight anymore, I can breathe freely, and I feel absolutely wonderful!"
On day n.
Hearing that familiar voice, Si Yao asked without even looking up,
"What illness are you planning to have today?"
At her words, Wen Qingzhu smiled shyly. "Perhaps lovesickness?"
