The Hokage Should Be an Uchiha

[The main story is complete. Bonus chapters are still being updated. Click the author's profile to see other upcoming stories.]

I fell in love at first sight with an Uchiha.

So I began following him around... I mean, I started pursuing him, and we got together without a hitch.

We were planning to get married, but on the very day of our wedding, I received news that my fiance had died.

Overcome with grief, I awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan.

When I opened my eyes again, everything around me had changed completely.

Good news: I was back in a time when my fiance was still alive.

Bad news: Everything had started over, and he no longer remembered me.

Even better news: I had gone back several years.

Even worse news: My older senior had become my younger junior. Looking at my underage fiance, I wept tears of grief and indignation.

But it’s fine. Send me 50 and keep listening to my revenge plan.

In this new life, I was going to take back everything that belonged to me. So I set out to pursue him again, and at the same time, I tracked down the person who had killed my fiance back then.

But what I never expected was that my fiance still died in the end.

Overcome with grief, I despaired of this world.

I’m going to create a world with only Shisui in it!

Then I went back to the very beginning again.

Since my fiance wanted a beautiful world, I would create a beautiful world for him.

Me: You old geezers, retire already! It’s the young people’s era now. The Hokage should be, ko no Uchiha da!

Why should a Senju be Hokage? The Uchiha should be the ones in charge!

Here's an upcoming story I'd like to recommend. Synopsis:

Mayuka thinks this world is downright awful.

The people are awful, the scenery is awful, and there’s an idiot who keeps coming up to her every day, talking about his dream of becoming Hokage.

He’s nothing but a dead-last.

The Uchiha clan always says she’s a disgrace to the Uchiha, a useless failure who can’t even use ninjutsu.

They’re not even friends, but that dead-last keeps saying he’ll change the world.

But... after seeing that guy’s smile, Mayuka feels like maybe this world isn’t all that awful.

Later, the guy who proclaimed he’d become Hokage died.

So she died with him.

The silver-haired, natural-curled man who was more or less her guardian always said he envied her for having the Sharingan. When she first arrived in this shitty world, she wanted to escape more than anything. But after hearing that silver-haired man casually mention the dead-last’s fate, for the first time she felt an urge to go back and punch him hard. She wanted to grab him by the collar and ask, Is this the world you wanted to save?

Well, destroying the world and rebuilding it counts as saving the world, right?

Before the term "enemies-to-lovers couple" was coined, people often used it to describe Obito and Mayuka.

One was an Uchiha failure, the other an Uchiha dead-last. Whenever the two of them were together, people would say, "A dead-last really is a dead-last. Even his friends are failures." The failure would insult him, too, saying that a dead-last could never beat Kakashi. When he shouted that he would work hard to become Hokage, Mayuka would only call him an idiot. Only Obito knew that she had beaten up everyone who looked down on him.

Sometimes Mayuka would picture Obito as a puppy. Even after he became the executor of the Eye of the Moon Plan, she still thought he was like a puppy.

"You’re always barking like a dog. Come on, call me 'master' and let me hear it."

"Didn't you want to hear a dog bark?" Obito leaned close to Mayuka's ear. Her disheveled state was fully in view. "...Woof?"

Mayuka spent nearly half her time insulting Obito, and Obito never once said the word "love."

But for them, this might just have been the way a "dead-last" and a "useless Uchiha" got along.

Theme: Become a better version of yourself.
