The Little Darling Has a Cognitive Disorder

An Xingzhi was born with a strange perceptual disorder: he sees himself as a circle.

In his eyes, his father, a famous director, is made up of three squares; his mother, who loves dancing, is a soft curve; his celebrity sister is a golden star; and his older brother, still in college, is a steady triangle.

An Xingzhi's life is greatly affected by his condition.

Fortunately, his family has always loved him and helped him overcome it.

His childhood friend and neighbor is also very good to him. From childhood until college graduation, he holds An Xingzhi's hand and tells him the road is flat, helps him with his studies, and helps him deal with all the problems caused by his perceptual disorder.

You Xu first meets An Xingzhi on a parenting variety show. Their parents are old acquaintances, so the two boys are paired together. You Xu thinks the other boy is well-behaved, quiet, neat, and pretty, but really clumsy: he's bad with directions, can't recognize faces, and even trips on flat ground.

You Xu can't help looking after him and teaching him little games.

Who would have thought that the next time they meet, An Xingzhi doesn't recognize him? You Xu isn't wearing the same headpiece as before.

The show begins, and the snacks are confiscated.

An Xingzhi secretly slips him two pieces of candy. With an earnest, slightly worried look, he says, "Your two horns are missing. I brought you triangular candy to replace them."

Only then does You Xu realize that An An is sick, not stupid.

And in An An's eyes, he is a super-spiky, seventeen-pointed star.

Later, after moving house, You Xu gets a new neighbor: a sickly boy with a wildly imaginative mind. They go to school together and grow up together.

You Xu is always holding his hand.

Those hands have slipped him candy and picked up a paintbrush. You Xu wants to put a little ring on one of them.

An Xingzhi says he's an unchanging guiding star with seventeen points.

Only You Xu knows how hard he's worked to make sure An An recognizes him.

He wants to be An Xingzhi's sun.

A seventeen-pointed star needs a circle to become the sun.

He's An Xingzhi's guiding star, but An Xingzhi is everything that holds him up.
