Did Dazai Get Together with Gin Today?

[The POV is unclear. This is just a for-fun crack pairing, so please don't take it seriously.]

Gin, one of the Five Executives, and Dazai have been bitter rivals for ages. Whenever they meet, they pick a fight, each refusing to back down.

Their subordinates tremble whenever the two come face to face, unable to help thinking: How can two people have such completely incompatible auras?

Before Kurosawa showed up, the certain man made of black sludge lived freely and on his own terms in the Port Mafia.

But.

The summer of the first year after Kurosawa joined the Port Mafia, Dazai hated him.

Because the other man claimed he was interfering with a mission, took Dazai's bandages to wrap himself up in, then threw him in a corner.

By the summer of the second year, Dazai felt physically sick whenever he saw Kurosawa.

Because that heartless boss, just to enjoy the spectacle, gave Kurosawa a "look after Dazai" assignment, constantly disrupting his romantic plans for "eternal sleep."

By the summer of the third year, Kurosawa had earned the name Gin. In Dazai's eyes, he had become even more annoying than the slug. Dazai didn't want to see him or look at him. They were always running into each other by sheer bad luck.

Until many years after they parted ways and met again.

It was an ordinary, warm afternoon when Dazai unexpectedly caught sight of a silver-haired young man on a street corner.

No, more accurately, he was a grown man, wearing a black coat, with a neatly trimmed brow and a quiet expression. He had long since shed the youthful air he'd had back then.

Dazai hurriedly tossed out a parting line, while Kunikida's furious shout was swept along by the strong wind: "Hey, you! Which beauty are you going to die with this time?"

A beauty?

He looked at the man before him and thought:

Indeed.

It had been a long time since they'd last met.

He curled his lips slightly and extended an invitation.

"Would you like to die with me, sir?"

The cold-blooded Port Mafia executive known as Gin sneered.

"After all these years, you still haven't outgrown that annoying habit."

I still hate you. Truly, deeply, hate you.

But loving you is the same. I always have, and always will.

* Set against the backdrop of Bungo Stray Dogs. What if the big boss of the liquor store served the Port Mafia instead of the liquor store? A super-cold top assassin x a world-weary man made of black sludge. What sparks will fly when the two most difficult men in their respective organizations collide? That's the thought that inspired this story.

* Mostly from Gin's point of view, from his youth to adulthood. The roles are clear.

* Immature kids squabbling over each other at first, then mature adults falling in love.

Theme: Love isn't about taming someone. It's about growing together.
