[In brief: A love story that transcends death.]

.

The heiress Yan Huixin falls from a life of luxury into the mud. Imprisoned in an iron cage, she vows to slaughter the whole village. But when she meets Tian Wan, who has suffered as she has, Yan saves the last shred of her kindness for the young woman, sold off to be an old man's second wife.

On the night they flee, blood stains her hairpin. She and her abuser plunge together into the abyss. When she opens her eyes again, she has become a vengeful ghost possessing the hairpin. She watches the newly widowed Tian Wan clutch it and weep indoors.

Why are you crying in the middle of the night? I'm the one who's dead, and even I haven't cried!

The vengeful ghost Yan Huixin kicks the door and shouts, "Widow, open up! You've left your dead wife out here!"

She will tear apart this village that devours people, help Tian Wan claw her way out of the mud, and send the woman she loves soaring far away to see the beauty of this world and its magnificent mountains and rivers.

Two lovers gaze at each other across the divide between life and death, yet no matter what, they cannot touch.
