Guarding My Palace [Narcissism]

[An alternate ancient wuxia setting. Not much plot, just a short story about setting off on a whim, w

No past or future, no split personalities, no self-creation, no time-space crossings! Just our adorable, carefree, slightly unhinged Su An, w.

--"Gazing into your eyes, I still remember the green temples reflected in the flower-shaped mirror."

Sensitive, passionate, fragile, sorrowful, pensive... No, tear up the labels.

Do you ever miss the days when you were a young lady waiting to be married? someone asked her.

She said nothing, her lowered lashes immersed in her memories. "They were sweet, and they were sad."

She remembered her struggles, her resentment and anger, her pillow soaked with tears and her eyes reddened from crying, and all those moonlit nights spent tossing and turning.

Lingbo severed her ties to love. That was why her master took her in as a disciple.

What is love? The world says love grows with time, love that runs deep, love lasting through countless lifetimes, and love doomed by the heavens...

Su An, my dear, I pity you, protect you, follow you, and love you. I was wrong to keep you confined in the palace.

I crawled out of the dark abyss, and found the bright blue sky. What joy! What joy!
