The Rain Clears in My World [Doppelganger Romance]

[Narcissus, Short Story, Alternate Inner World, Bizarre (?)]

The world was drenched in endless rain. At last, he was tired and no longer wanted to hold up an umbrella. He would rather walk into the rain and melt away.

Someone suddenly barged into his world, took his hand, and led him, soaked from head to toe, beneath the eaves.

And so plastic bags took flight into the sky, puddles reflected a clear blue sky stretching for miles, and swings swayed gently beneath rainless skies...

And so the weather forecast announced sunshine forever, echoes came from phone booths, and old houses began to cough...

Until he sailed in a paper boat and reached the end of the sky.

[This is my first attempt at this kind of fantastical, metaphorical style. I hope I can pull it off.]

Theme: Please remember that I still love you, and I am you.
