A Dark Sextet of Love Poems for the Piano

The last story I wrote got too wild, and now I'm stuck. I'll write something else to get the creative juices flowing, then continue this one next year.

This is a world overrun by malice. The goodness you know isn't truly good, and the evil you fear is an abyss that cuts to the soul.

But you are still the same person you always were. How will you survive in this world drowning in malice?

Will you become a broken-winged bird imprisoned in darkness?

Will you become the wild rose of an obsessive golden knight?

Will you become the unruly lover beneath your sworn enemy?

Will you become the prey the bright savior seeks to capture and covets?

Or could there be other possibilities?

This is a world overrun by malice. The goodness you know isn't truly good, and the evil you fear is an abyss that cuts to the soul.

Your soul is stained by an incurable darkness. To survive, you must seek a cure.

You must break the wings of the proud, aloof bird.

You must gather the thorn-covered rose into your palm.

You must pin your arrogant, cold-blooded enemy beneath you.

You must toy with the clever, perceptive prey before your eyes.

Or could there be other possibilities?
