Dazai, How Old Are You?

On an utterly ordinary day, Dazai found an utterly ordinary capsule.

He glanced at his utterly ordinary Complete Manual of Suicide and swallowed the capsule in an utterly ordinary way.

And so, on that utterly ordinary day, Dazai became an utterly ordinary little kid.

*

Curious little Dazai dragged his long coat hem along as he wandered unfamiliar streets.

He was so hungry that he knocked on a random door. A chubby old man with a big beard appeared, a look of despair on his face.

*

The instant Dr. Agasa opened the door, he broke down.

The familiar scene, the familiar height, the familiar ill-fitting clothes.

Surely he couldn't tell him this child was another victim who had been shrunk by APTX!?

The childhood chapters focus on family and friendship. The romance begins after he returns to his adult body. A slice-of-life story with no schemes or conspiracies (I wouldn't know how to write them anyway :)

A group-favorite, everyone-loves-him vibe. The author is a Dazai fan and can't stand people insulting or hitting Dazai. Such comments will be deleted.

This story may eventually be published.
