Those Who Abandoned Me [Cthulhu]

A classified dossier was sealed away in the Chengchao City Archives. Seven years ago, at the graduation ceremony of Chengchao No. 1 High School, a cult that had been plotting for a long time summoned the Snake King in front of everyone. All 3,753 students and staff at Chengchao No. 1 High School died. When members of the special investigation team arrived, a boy with slit pupils crawled out of a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, in full view of everyone. He slithered over the bodies of his classmates like a snake, his body seeming boneless, drenched in blood. When he looked up at the team member leading the way, his still-childish face looked almost inhuman in the dim light, like a beautiful serpent that could take a life. After that day, no one who had been there could ever forget that face. * Seven years later, a pair of hands with long, distinct knuckles pulled the dossier from a bookcase. "She Mochu," said the owner of the hands, placing it before the archivist. His eyes lowered, his voice languid. "Graduate of Miskatonic University's postgraduate program in occult studies." He said, "I'm here to retrieve my file." Then he would find the people who had brought about this massacre. tips: 1. She Mochu's original timeline from Rules of Weird Tales next door. I borrowed the first arc's name for this upcoming novel. If you're interested but haven't read it, you can check out the three Cthulhu arcs, [Those Who Leave Me], [Spore Memory], and [Flesh Is Weak], as a prologue or sample. This novel shouldn't be too long, and the main story will probably have a similar feel to those three arcs. 2. An originalist take on Cthulhu, not a traditional power-leveling wish-fulfillment story. Punching the Old Ones and tearing apart the Three Pillars probably isn't in the cards, but there may be plenty of literal bloodshed, gallows humor, and beautiful but tragic characters. 3. The cover is from Miracle Xiao Chu's wardrobe, and the character card is Miracle Xiao Chu in the flesh. The novel hasn't started yet, but I'll swap them out for new pictures from time to time, Ov< [Blurb screenshotted on 2024.2.12] Theme: Humanity's hymn is a hymn to courage.
