We Buddhist Cultivators Don't Believe in Evil Gods [Cthulhu]

When Chu Shu opened his eyes, he had transmigrated into the game he'd just beaten. The good news: He'd already finished the main story. His bald monk protagonist was max level, his warehouse was overflowing, and he was richer than a kingdom. The bad news: The ending he'd unlocked was the BE ending, Mutation. [A distant hum rings out. You watch the Buddha statues in the hall twist and warp. Beneath the golden lotus, distorted tendrils spread, and overlapping eyes cover a thousand hands. Amid countless murmurs, at once chaotic and clear, the heavy tolling of the bell at the top of the tower resounds in your mind. You willingly close your eyes and kneel, becoming part of this living temple.] Chu Shu grabs the investigator beside him, who hasn't had time to kneel yet. "Holy crap, run! We're Buddhist cultivators, we don't believe in evil gods!!!!" * From Ji Jingyao's journal: Month x, day x, year xx Got dragged into an investigation by bad luck again. This time, the evil god's arrival was interrupted, and its followers are hot on our heels. As time passes, everyone thinks we're going to die here today. Just then, a master wearing a suit and a kasaya draped over his shoulder comes running from the other side of the pitch-black alley. Damn, he's familiar. The master holds a tablet in his left hand and an unmistakably familiar golden lotus-patterned alms bowl in his right. His eyes lowered, his face compassionate. "Master Chu! What are you doing here?" The investigator beside me looks like he's seen our savior, finally reassured. "The evil god's followers are chasing us!" "Haha, what a coincidence." Master Chu flashes a hearty smile. "The actual evil god is chasing me." #Call me Master and I'll take you along to make a spectacular mess# #Another day of Master Chu stirring up trouble everywhere# A gong who wants to stay out of trouble but keeps getting inexplicably pulled into investigations × a shou who keeps courting death and is determined to get in the face of every evil god Other people transmigrate into games they've beaten: relax, build a business, fall in love, retire to the mountains, become famous. Chu Shu transmigrates into a game he's beaten: investigate, start over, court spectacular death, defy fate, face evil gods head-on. Tips: 1. Modern occult Buddhism and Taoism + Chinese-style Lovecraftian horror. Power rankings: ancient gods > protagonist > everyone else. 2. The game's BE ending that Chu Shu unlocked is based on Bloodborne's ending where you become an ancient god after killing the Moon Presence. If you haven't played it, just understand that the protagonist was one step away from the Great Old Ones, and in every sense of the word, he was never going to be normal. 3. I'm writing something a little niche, so please add it to your collection if you can. With a topic this niche, the only way I can tell whether anyone will read it is by the number of pre-saves.
