[Haikyuu!!] Akemi-chan Can't Read the Room

Ever since she was little, people had teased Akemi Kawasaki for being "unable to read the room." She couldn't understand why Kyoko, the older girl she looked up to, always seemed like a different person whenever she was around Ito.

Then, in her third year of high school, family circumstances forced her to transfer to Tokyo, where she accidentally got into a quarrel with a local delinquent gang.

"Hey, hey! May I ask what you're all doing surrounding our manager?"

Before Akemi could make a move, a group of tall boys in red tracksuits came to her rescue.

"Sorry about that. Things were pretty urgent, so I said you were our manager. I hope we didn't scare you."

Hearing this from the tall boy with the strange hairstyle, Akemi's first thought was:

What the heck! They thought she was a "weakling"!

Still, since they'd saved her, she supposed she'd let them off the hook!

What Akemi didn't expect was that her story with the strange-haired guy was only just beginning.

Kuroo had noticed the cool girl in his class who was always on her own from the very first day of school.

Her beautiful long black hair was always fluttering through his mind.

(Akemi Kawasaki, whose parents forced her to straighten her hair after she transferred schools: Ugh.jpg)

He wanted people who didn't understand the appeal of long, straight black hair (specifically, a certain libero) to see just how wonderful it was.

So Kuroo went over to ask her if she'd like to be the volleyball team's manager.

But once Akemi actually said yes...

Kuroo: What a shame that you don't get the appeal of long, straight black hair!

Kuroo: But it's fine if I'm the only one who understands Akemi-chan!!!

His childhood friend, forced to listen to all this: Kuro, you sound like a stalker...

※ Akemi-chan is the type to say, "Akemi, do you ever think about when to say things?"
