[DC] Robin Isn't the Only Bird

“Entirely mine, mine alone, as fate decreed, unchangeable, the way I was born, forever, unchanged.” With each word, he took a step forward, his boots striking the floor and echoing loudly, making no attempt to hide his intentions. He should have been the one at a disadvantage, the one being controlled into revealing his true self, but he looked aggressive, like a predator closing in on its prey, waiting to tear out someone's throat with its teeth. His eyes still shone in the dimness. “I want someone who lets me control them and controls me in turn, someone I can destroy and who can destroy me, someone who trusts me completely, who would hold on to my fingers even as we fall into the abyss.” “You can't,” he said, his voice dropping from its earlier heights. He stopped advancing. His words were honest and blunt. “You want me for your own accomplishments, not for who I am. You want me for my abilities, for what I can do. You'll make me yours, a part of you, but you won't be mine.” Tim Drake's voice was almost a sigh. “You can't. No one can.” Reader's note: Soulmates + soulmarks + lots of headcanons + my own interpretation. I haven't read every comic, but I want to consume this pairing, and since it doesn't exist yet, I'll have to write it myself. Title: I want someone to love me fiercely until death, to understand that love is as powerful as death, and to support me forever. I want someone to destroy me and be destroyed by me. On a wild night, who can call you home? Only someone who knows your name. From Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit. Theme: He will watch over him, teach him, save him, protect him, and love him. And he will be watched over, taught, protected, and loved by him.
