SpongeBob Nightwing × Squidward as the male lead! "Arkham Gatekeeper's Diary" A psychiatric nurse. A lonely New Yorker. He lives in a cheap Bronx apartment, falling asleep to the sound of gunfire every night. The psychiatric hospital where he works is on the brink of collapse in both funding and quality of care. It's either about to go bankrupt or about to kill someone with its treatment. "I heard the director bought Stark Industries stock," his best friend told him one day. His friend was the hospital's attending psychiatrist. After working at this cursed hospital for so long, he'd developed depression. "I bought some, too." His face shone with hope, his expectations for a better life rising in tandem with Stark Industries' stock price. "I hope my wages go up," he said. "Otherwise, I'll jump ship to Arkham." It was only a joke. "There was a riot there not long ago. It's dangerous." "But the pay is good, and they provide room and board." "The pay really is good. But I'd rather make a medical mistake here than spend time with those people. At least I won't die." His friend had wanted to go to Arkham before, too. That way, he wouldn't have to kill himself. Not long afterward, Tony Stark went missing. Some time later, Tony Stark returned and announced the closure of the weapons division. Stark Industries stock plummeted. Not long after his friend went bankrupt and jumped off a building, the hospital where he worked ran out of funding, and he lost his job. "Well, it's not so bad," he said from the rooftop. "At least you weren't unemployed when you died." He leaped off the roof. Then he made a crater in the ground. What a shame. He couldn't just die like anyone else. Did that mean he'd have to work hard to stay alive? Three months later, he still hadn't found a job. His former hospital had such a bad reputation that the hospitals willing to hire him had high rent nearby, long commutes, and low wages. The places he liked weren't interested in hiring him. Better a miserable life than no life at all, he thought. Gritting his teeth, he sent his resume to Arkham. Three days later, he packed his bags and set out to work at Arkham Asylum. "Arkham Asylum welcomes you, Mr. Dylan Monk." Theme: The end of the universe is love and hugs.
