[DC] Dead Seed

Jason Todd was planting a dead seed, a dead seed given to him by someone he had tried to kill more than once. The other man had been a mess, picking the seed from hair that was almost matted, with dust and yellow clots of blood sticking to the skin his mask didn't cover, like he'd just been dragged out of a garbage heap. Jason looked at him and thought that if he could see the man's eyes, they would surely be sparkling.

Jason Todd was planting a dead seed, a dead seed unlike any he'd ever seen. He didn't ask anyone what to do. He didn't expect it to sprout. He simply cared for it, putting it in the best place he could offer and watering and loosening the soil without fail. Even though it never put down roots, he never forgot it.

Jason Todd was planting a dead seed. The seed sprouted leaves and branches, hanging outside his window. He never broke his word, so he reached out, cupped the young man's face in front of him, and made him meet his gaze. "Because I want to see it bloom."

Theme: What an embarrassing pair of lovebirds. Good thing they're my ship, or this would be a tragedy.jpg
