Synopsis

Tim Drake lay at his side. His frame had grown without his noticing throughout his adolescence, yet as time passed he seemed increasingly thin. The red-and-black fabric of his uniform clung to his body, outlining muscles that looked ready to explode into action. But he still seemed slight, like a piece of metal hammered over and over, something one hand could hold, compacted into a cold hardness that could neither break nor bend.

He looked at him. His blue eyes were paler than his own, like the ice one sees above when diving into the ocean. No light rested on his irises in the darkness, yet his gaze was unmistakable: he was staring at him.

At some point, he had begun to look more like a young man than a boy. The line from his cheekbones to his chin was almost sharp, his nose bridge straight and high, his eye sockets not deep, and a gloomy shadow lingered beneath his eyes. Before he spoke, his lips were pressed together, their corners turned down, giving him an almost displeased expression.

His head rested beside his on the pillow, his eyes level with his. In the stillness, his voice was like a curse, like a blessing, engraving itself into his mind again and again.

"You have to live."

Reader advisory: This is a self-indulgent story, and every character who appears can be in a romantic relationship with every other character. All pairings are reversible, so feel free to pick whichever pairing you like. I'm going to make everyone suffer.

Theme: How should a person deal with an emptiness that should not exist, yet whose absence they know they feel? How should they hide it, and how can they help someone who sees it understand that they are missing something essential that does not exist?

Book recommendations for everyone still immersed in falling in love with the Marvel and DC universes. (Falling for DC must mean the world was destroyed in your past life, haha.) Official content is better than fanfiction trash.

The Bat Family Stories

Welcome to Gotham. I like Batfamily crossover fics (especially Batman-centric ones). I only ship characters with members of the Batfamily, so please don't recommend Superman/Batman or Batman/Superman. I occasionally enjoy some Bruce Wayne/Clark Kent within the Batfamily, too.
