I Turned into a Dog and Was Picked Up by My Aloof Business Partner

Yu Zhijin has the perfect work partner: his junior, Chai Yin, who is always expressionless as he writes code.

He can calmly troubleshoot at a fire scene, and even fix bugs on the fly when lightning strikes the server room. He's practically a human AI.

It isn't until Yu Zhijin turns into a dog and gets taken in by his junior that he discovers this human AI has 3 TB of secret videos of him on his hard drive.

"Woof!"

[Hidden-camera photos cover the walls, gleaming coldly in the moonlight.]

"Whine..."

[Why does his junior hold him every night and sniff his shirt?]

"Arf!!"

[The safe with his birthday as the password contains his hair!]

Yu Zhijin, now a dog, feels like the sky is falling.

And what makes him even more desperate is that his junior refuses to accept that he's had an accident and actually performs a spirit-calling ritual. And it works!

Yu Zhijin stares, utterly stunned, at the "himself" who steps out of the ritual circle.

If that spirit is him, then who is the dog whose belly his junior is rubbing?

-

Chai Yin has a secret hidden in his code.

In the database he built himself, even the rhythm of Yu Zhijin's breathing is recorded as a measure of his affection.

It contains 4K videos of his senior yawning, keepsakes of everything his senior has ever touched, and even simulations of 273 different ways to confess to him.

[He said my code was elegant, never knowing I'd long since planted a backdoor in the program of his life.]

[He said he wanted us to be partners for life, so I'll make sure I'm all he has in his world.]

On the seventh day after Yu Zhijin's unexpected disappearance, Chai Yin calmly places Yu Zhijin's hair in the ritual circle.

If he can't find the living, he'll find his soul.

The candlelight flickers. Chai Yin gazes at the vacant spirit inside the circle and smiles. "Welcome back, Senior."
