[Genshin Impact] Are We Fatui Done For?

Many years after leaving the Fatui, Xierke is still reminded, whenever he is interviewed by reporters, of the day Tartaglia, the youngest Harbinger, unleashed the Vortex Vanquisher in Liyue.

A few months earlier, Xierke had still been congratulating himself on being assigned to Liyue, where he wouldn't have to clean up after the Eighth Harbinger beat up a god.

"At the time, I thought I was going to lose my job," Xierke told the reporter solemnly.

"But as I recall, you didn't lose your job. You were promoted to special envoy and transferred to Inazuma."

"Right, but going to Inazuma was worse than losing my job!"

Xierke would never forget his time after being transferred to Inazuma.

Even more terrifyingly, just when he thought the work in Inazuma was already grueling, fate told him that had been the easy part.

As long as you can bear hardship, there's always more hardship to come.

In Sumeru, Xierke watched helplessly as the Sixth Harbinger faced off against the blonde Traveler and the Dendro Archon.

In Fontaine, he watched helplessly as the youngest Harbinger was arrested, the prophecy came true, and floodwaters surged everywhere, even though he couldn't swim.

In Natlan, he watched helplessly as the First Harbinger sat down and couldn't get back up.

In Nod-Krai, he watched helplessly as the Harbingers turned on one another, until the Third, Fourth, and Seventh Harbingers beat up a segment of the Second.

In Snezhnaya...

Forget it.

Xierke closed his eyes. He could think only one thing: Are we Fatui finished?

-

Reporter: By the way, why didn't you just resign?

Xierke: If I resigned, where would I get the material to write about the Harbingers' daily lives and sell it for money?

Reporter: ...

Reporter: Do the Harbingers know?

Xierke: They know.

Xierke: They told me I didn't have to stick too closely to the facts when I wrote about them.

Reporter: ...

Xierke: So I gave each of them a deeply moving romance.

Xierke: No need to thank me. My royalties are the emotional damages I'm owed.
