The Princess Should Be Just Like This [Aiming to Cook Up a Sweet Ancient Romance]

Reborn male lead | A slow-burn, sweet romance | Marriage before love

Xuning is the Shunjia Emperor's most beloved little princess. She is breathtakingly beautiful, with a dazzling, extravagant charm.

Though a little spoiled, she considers her flaws far outweighed by her virtues.

One day, the Shunjia Emperor sent someone to deliver a message:

"We said everything as you instructed, but this was the Duke of Su's exact response: 'The princess is of noble birth, pampered and precious. Changjun is dull-witted and unruly, and would never presume to aspire to her hand.'"

In other words, he thought she was spoiled and didn't want to be her prince consort.

How infuriating!

Xie Changjun was only a little handsome, a little good at riding and archery, a little talented, and a little famous in Chang'an...

What gave him the right to look down on her?

Xuning was so angry for days that she couldn't eat or sleep.

Then the palace eunuch brought another message:

Xie Changjun said he was only being polite that day. Actually, he very much wanted to marry the princess :)

-

In his previous life, Xie Changjun, known as a blood-soaked demon of the battlefield, fought his way back to Chang'an after twelve years away.

Once a dashing young man who rode through the streets, he now had few friends or family left, and his heart was desolate.

A few days later, the palace suddenly sent him something, saying it seemed to be connected to him.

Xie Changjun opened the wooden box. Inside was a stack of letters.

On the plain paper was a girl's graceful, delicate handwriting. The earliest letter had been written twelve years ago.

"Xie Changjun, I pleaded with my imperial uncle, but it was no use. I'm sorry. I've sent a few pieces of winter clothing with this letter. The roads north are cold and icy. I wish you peace, wherever you are."

He had crossed mountains of corpses and seas of blood to avenge his country and family. Xie Changjun had never imagined that during those difficult, miserable years, there was someone in Chang'an thinking of him, and that she was the only one.

"The princess is delighted to see me, and I should be just as delighted to see her."
