Synopsis

[New story, I Became a Steampunk NPC and Usurped the Divine Throne, is now underway]

[Gradually correcting typos and polishing the text] [Bonus chapters updating slowly]

Chu Zu was a novelist in his previous life. He died suddenly after working through the night to meet a deadline, and after his death he was bound to the Side Character Correction System.

The System proposed a deal: if Chu Zu could play and reform the side characters hated by readers, he could be given a new life.

Chu Zu: Change a character's personality? I'm great at that!

Book One

Reader A: [You can make the villain stupid, but don't dream that the readers are stupid too. Is that really so hard to understand?]

Reader A again: [Holy crap! So it was the big shot's scheme within a scheme within a scheme all along!! Zu-dad! Sorry! I was talking way too loudly!!]

Book Two

Reader B: [Enough with the dog comparisons. You can repeat five hundred times that he's an adorable puppy, but all I see is a lovesick dog, and not even one that can bark.]

Reader B again: [I must be seeing things. An invincible, sunny, cheerful big puppy! Where can I adopt one? A-Zu! I want to raise A-Zu too!!]

Book Three

Reader C: [Is the author's life really so miserable that they have to create a character who's awful in every way? If you've run out of ideas, go get a job.]

Reader C again: [Damn, Zu God, I truly deserve to die!]

Book Four, Book Five, Book Six...

Chu Zu: Well? My acting wasn't great, but I did a decent job fixing them, right?

System: ...Do you know what a side character is? How can a hugely popular character count as a side character?!

TIPS:

1. Feel free to speak your mind in chapter comments and reviews. I welcome and respect all discussion, but please don't fight. I'm begging you (bows).

2. Beware of Zu's emotional appeals. He's ruthless.

3. Weibo: @DuanBuLaJiu. Random Chu Zu CGs may appear.

4. Some forum posts include timestamps accurate to the second. They're useful.

5. This is an attempt to try out various genres. My author page has advance notices for stories in different genres, so please check them out =w=

Theme: Love the work you do

Western Fantasy / Cyberpunk / Infinite-Flow / Crossover Anime / Power Fantasy

(For my own reference) Protagonist fan, long novels, plot-driven, fully realized worlds, B-king protagonists, incredibly satisfying reads, no frustrating setbacks, some niche-kink stories mixed in, and my personal picks of the finest.

Finished or Interested (Recommended or Not)

A mixed bag of crossovers with the DC and Marvel universes, Detective Conan fanfiction, original BL, no-romance stories, and Harry Potter. This list is really just a record of what I've read (?) so I wrote these descriptions however I pleased.

Personal Rant Collection

Stories with characters who get more and more out of character, trigger-filled plots, bad writing, no logic, or a mismatch between the promo and the actual story.

My Personal Favorites

If I enjoy reading it and it ends well, I give it 4 stars unless something unexpected happens. I only include stories I love and have bought in full. After work, I like something comforting, though my tastes aren't all focused on top protagonists.

[Top-Centric / No Romance]

Strong leads, an overpowered and gorgeous top, dom, snarky commentator, dog-coded and cat-coded, adorable cold beauty, strong-but-miserable, bking, self-delusional transformation, rivals on opposite sides, secret identities, narcissistic romance, ABO, and melodramatic angst. Please check for potential issues yourself.

Quick Transmigration Stories

Most of these are BL. I've finished reading all of them, and I'll update this list from time to time. The ratings are just my personal taste and don't mean anything else; this is simply a collection! If you know any good quick transmigration novels, please share them with me. Thanks!

I add anything I’ve finished and found interesting. However, I’m less inclined to include the really famous ones that everyone already knows, since everyone knows them anyway.

Just my personal taste. Includes romance, danmei with both top and bottom perspectives, and no-CP stories. I'm keeping these here so that if I switch accounts again, I can find them all in one place instead of searching everywhere. It satisfies my love of collecting, and I recommend them too.

A Mix of Crossover Fanfiction and Original Spin-Offs, Mostly Fanfiction

My tastes are complicated. I read BG, BL, no-CP, and harem stories. I'm a fan of wish-fulfillment fiction and have extremely eclectic tastes. There may be OOC portrayals or deaths of canon characters, so check the warnings first.
