Her Good Little Sister

When Bo Qingci was fifteen, her family suffered a terrible upheaval, and overnight she became an orphan with no one to rely on. The neighbors took turns coming over to persuade her. "Listen to your auntie. There's no point in a girl getting so much schooling. In the end, you'll still have to get married. If you don't find a husband, how will you manage on your own?"

That was when Min Xi appeared.

"Do you still want to go to school?"

"If you do, then keep studying no matter what. You have to get into college and grow wings so you can fly out of these mountains."

She was covered in dust from the road. Her natural grace made her seem completely out of place in this impoverished mountain village, but every word she spoke rang with conviction.

Only then did Bo Qingci learn that the person who had been supporting her all these years was a woman just eight years older than her.

Later, she got into college as she had hoped, and Min Xi took her into her home and treated her like a younger sister.

One day, by chance, Bo Qingci saw Min Xi entangled with another long-haired woman in a corner of a bar.

Dazed astonishment mingled with the surging feelings she could no longer suppress. From that day on, a certain greedy, forbidden longing began to grow wildly inside her.

Could a woman and a woman be together like that?

If they could, why couldn't she be the one kissing her sister?

A young girl's burning feelings can't be hidden or suppressed.

Just then, relatives of the Bo family came looking for her, hoping to express their gratitude. Min Xi cruelly rejected Bo Qingci and fled the city in a panic.

After completing three years of training abroad, Min Xi returns home. As one of her subordinates picks her up at the airport, she tells Min Xi about the company's changes over the past few years. "A few years ago, our design department hired a very talented young woman. She's hardworking and gifted, and she became a manager at a remarkably young age. What's special is that her designs somehow have the same flair you had back then, Sister Min. I'm sure you'll like her when you meet!"

"Is that so?" Min Xi smiles, unconvinced.

But when she meets the "young woman" her colleague was talking about, the sight of Bo Qingci overlaps with the frail figure from the mountain village years ago, dressed in mourning clothes that hung loosely on her thin frame.

Min Xi feels her heart beat again, a sound she hasn't heard in years, amid the blood rushing through her veins.

Reader's note:

① Eight-year age gap. The second female lead has a past relationship with a woman, and the protagonist goes through a name change after coming of age.

② Very slow burn, with a coming-of-age element. No romance before adulthood.

③ Also, I don't agree with using terms like "pure" and "impure" to define characters. I reject those labels. [Readers who insist on "purity" labels, please skip this.]
